“The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.”

Specifically if you like curry - I have ordered takeout from here probably over 200 times over the last 5 years - I’m not joking, and every time I get the Pineapple Curry with Chicken, I hope this place stays open for as long as I live because it is my absolutely favorite meal.”

“Love this place! I always have a shredded beef dish of some sort. I know it's homemade as a couple of times I have found a bay leaf inside my burrito or taco. Good thing I always add a bit of salsa to my stuff and check. I love sitting at the bar and trying the 3 different salsas that are available as a help yourself buffet style along with delicious chips. Love the margaritas but now I am spoiled, I tried one with Milagro silver tequila on the rocks. It is excellent! The Columbia Heights locale is my favorite, and I have tried each of the others! I have yet to try the patio in the summertime, so I can't tell you about it. The stained glass windows are amazing! Busy bustling place! I love it! And the staff is excellent! If I want to change an option on the menu, the staff is very accommodating. I would give this place 5 stars! I always take family and friends to La Casita Mexican Restaurant - Columbia Heights, MN when they come to visit!”

“If you crave a different kind of food experience, a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern buffet with big flavors and a large variety of dishes to choose from. You won’t leave the place hungry. We like the babaganoush, hummus, tabule, lentil soup, the pita and breads, the various ways they make ribs, kofta kebab, and the great desserts, like kunafa and baklava. Once in a while, some of the food weren’t hot enough. All you have to do is just wait until they bring out more food from the kitchen. Be sure to ask for mint tea, it is our favorite drink. The place is usually packed with folks from the Middle East and Africa during lunch. Between lunch and dinner, you will not have trouble finding a table.”

“I recently ordered some chocolate chip cookies and some sodas and they were absolutely delicious. The best baked goods I’ve had in the Twin Cities area. And my order was ready super fast and the whole ordering process was nothing but smooth. Highly recommended!”

“This new spot is exactly what I’ve been looking for a mix menu of all my favorite foods. I have been there multiple times already and each time the food is just right. As of now my favorite meal is the mix kebab plate or the teriyaki chicken. They also have some shocking hours which I find interesting because they are the only spot I know of that stay open till 1am on weekends and this is amazing because I usually finish my work at 12am so it’s the perfect spot to go to for a late night eat. I highly recommended this place the people are friendly and have a really nice vibey atmosphere. 10/10”

The owner has worked here for decades. He cares about his store and it shows. Yes, he works at his own store. Great guy. This is my preferred location.”
