“I, quite literally, had the best meal of my life here! We shared the samosas, grilled scallops, grilled salmon, butter chicken, and a ginger chaitini. The flavor in these dishes was something I have never experienced at any other restaurant. They genuinely have a menu that caters to everyone’s likes and tastes. The service was wonderful and the owner was incredibly kind and eager to share his passion with us. I will 100000% be coming back and I highly recommend you go as well!“

“We went to India Kutir on a wendsday evening for my partners birthday. The server got us a free app and we ordered 3 entrees to share. All 3 were excellent with the Lamb Curry being the stand out. Service was excellent as well. 5/5 will return might only order 2 entrees next time. We had lots of leftovers.“

It was clean, all the staff was very nice & friendly, the music Wasn't too loud, our food all came out at the same time, and it was authenticly very good. We were so excited to have indian cuisine in the neighborhood, having been without since the closing of Kathmandu on Grand ave years ago.
We love and seek out Indian food whenever we can, so our expectations were high, I suppose.
Interior is bright and clean, sparse but pleasant. Staff was light but never stopped moving while we were there.
We ordered a variety of favorites to get a good sampling, justified with a table of 6. The apps were good, and sauces were fresh.
But the entrees were a surprising disappointment. Overall, there was a sweet overtone to almost every dish which I found took away from the flavor. Spice levels were good for the 2 dishes ordered “medium”. But still strangely sweet.
The palak paneer was a serious letdown. The paneer was fine but the spinach was horribly overcooked and over processed. It was identical to frozen entrees we have experienced. And again, sweet to taste. What is that?
The naan I will say was fresh and delicious, and the Chicken Biryani was also good. The rest were not.
I will try again after the dust settles from opening.

Much happier with the food! Having done takeout twice now, I am very pleased with both experiences. The odd sweetness was gone from the entrees, and everything tasted great. Will be back for dine in soon!“

“My daughter and I just had the *most* delicious lunch here! Highly recommend and we will be back! (This time we had Bangalore style masala dosa, onion dosa with chutney’s and sambar & a wonderful palak paneer with cardamom infused rice) but there is so much great South Indian food on this menu that I look forward to revisiting!“

“Rashmi and her team did a fabulous job of catering our wedding in May 2023 in Minneapolis, MN. We cannot say enough good things about Gorkha Palace! We were regular customers of Gorkha Palace even before we wanted to have them as our caterer for our wedding reception. Their prices may be a tiny bit higher, but it is worth it - all the ingredients they use are organic and local, which we appreciated. Rashmi, the co-owner, was very flexible in accommodating our many special requests, including guests’ dietary restrictions and our last-minute venue change. The catering team was punctual, had excellent communication, attended to our guests’ needs, and left the venue in a clean condition. For our wedding, we did a buffet-style meal consisting of 3 entrees, rice, and naan, plus mango lassis and samosas for cocktail hour. It was the first time for many of our guests trying Indian food, so we were a bit nervous, but those nerves were put to ease when we saw our guests go back for seconds (and thirds), and compliment the food to us all night long. The lamb vindaloo was a hit, and got wiped out in no time! Being of Indian descent, we can certifiably say this food was top-notch in its balance of spices! Indian food was a significant part of our Indian-American fusion wedding and we couldn’t have done it without Gorkha Palace! Overall we would highly recommend Gorkha Palace for their catering services, delicious food, and dine-in restaurant as well :)“

Tomorrow Leo turns 16 years old. So on the eve of his birthday, out of nostalgia, we ordered the exact same dishes we ate before he was born. Chicken Curry (Kukhura-ko Maasu), Goat Curry (Khasiko Maasu), Tomato Achaar and Potato Achaar. It’s so lovely that this wonderful family-owned restaurant still exists, and we can share the exact same delicious dishes with Leo and his two other siblings.“
