Tasteless!
Ordered a Thai boat noodle last week, and it tasted nothing like any of the local boat noodles. In fact, it tasted like nothing at all and was extremely oily. Couldn't even pass as a regular pho. Almost funeral pho like, but worse.
Gave them another chance and ordered lunch again. This time, I chose the tricolor and Hmong sausage with sticky rice. You can't really mess that up, right? Wrong! Who boils their Hmong sausages? The dipping pepper was just as...read full review
We ordered pork belly, sticky rice, glazed wings, hmong sausage, Khao poob, and papaya salad. it was soo much food and very reasonably priced. Most importantly it was DELICIOUS 😋!! The pork belly was so crispy and juicy- honestly the best I've had. The papaya salad was freshly made and so refreshing and spicy - like I watched her make it while we were waiting. Lucky Pearl Cafe is a neighborhood spot that offers both takeout and dine-in options. Known for their delicious Thai cuisine, the menu features popular dishes like egg rolls, pad thai, and phở with generous portions. The cafe also serves boat noodles, which some find to be more like phở than traditional boat noodles, and the pork belly laab is recommended. The taro tea is especially praised for its great taste. Cream cheese wontons are another highlight, as they are hearty triangle ones, not the usual square types. While wings are available and are generally well-received, some may find the angel stuffed wings could be improved. The food can take a little time to arrive, and while service is decent, it may not be exceptional. The atmosphere feels a bit old and rundown, and staff members seem less invested in the place. Overall, Lucky Pearl Cafe is a good choice for regular visits, especially if you enjoy their taro tea, want to try the pork belly or phở, and appreciate the fresh papaya salad.
