House of Kai Reviews
This is the worst Chinese I have ever had. I have had better food out of a freezer.
The General was horrible, there was no veggies. The Kung pow chicken was slimy. It was absolutely gross. There was no spicy mustard for the egg rolls and 2 packets of soy sauce for a dinner for two.
I called asking for a refund or credit and was told they wouldn't do it.
I don't suggest eating here.
We were so sad when they left Mankato so we now drive 88 miles for our favorite Cantonese cuisine. The food is remarkable. We would make the trip for the cream cheese puffs alone!
Great food. Same staff and cooks. If I closed my eyes I would have thought I was at the old YU’s in Mankato

House of Kai offers a mix of experiences with a large menu full of tasty meals. Highlights include perfectly crispy chicken wings, fresh and delicious dishes like the house lo mein and beef with broccoli, and exceptional service. Customers enjoy big portions and a variety of options, including pictures for easy ordering. The food generally offers good flavor at a great price, and the service is extremely nice and sweet. Some dishes like the Steamed Barbecue Pork Buns and Mapo Tofu have received praise for their flavor, spice, and consistency. However, some meals like the pad Thai may disappoint. While shrimp egg foo young and fried tofu with vegetables may not meet expectations, other options like the Larry Lo Mein and Firecracker Chicken are well-liked, with the latter offering plenty of onions, good heat, and generous chicken. The fried rice is noted for lacking flavor and might be better to skip. Overall, it's a place worth revisiting for a satisfying meal, especially for those who enjoy flavorful dishes and friendly service, with takeout being a great option as food is typically ready in 15-20 minutes.
