I was there a year ago today, as I live in the Twin Cities. My son worked in Faribault for the day and I tagged along.Crack of Dawn Bakehouse was my first stop, and it was fantastic! The cinnamon roll was so delicious, it took me back to my childhood at my Grandma's house. So fluffy and fresh and the frosting, oh my! I was 10 years old again, except I was also drinking a really fresh, nice cup of rich coffee with a good amount of cream (oops, a little too much!) and sugar. So...read full review
The Crack of Dawn has the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had!! The rolls are fluffy and buttery which contrasts perfectly with the creamy frosting which is not too sweet. The cinnamon is subtle and does not overwhelm the roll which is so hard to find. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful and there is a fun collection of gift items. Definitely worth the drive down from the Twin Cities for a visit!!

The only thing disappointing is that they're not open more days of the week. All 3 quiches are delightful and filling. The tilta whirl drink is comforting, atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are sweet and down to earth. Woman who wears the suspenders often (sorry, I'm bad with names) is kind enough to always answer questions and wait on me when I'm getting last minute requests.
