Service was faster than we expected. Food was delicious. We had the patty melt and woke up the next day thinking about it. I see reviews complaining about the outdatedness of the former mansion turned supper club, but I thought that was part of the charm and history.

There beef is tuff and chewy and the walleye is poorly filleted

Dont go. Meal was not very good for the price. I've never seen a new york strip look like that for the cost. Way over peiced.. Male Staff was pleasant but looked like they had just come fresh from the farm. The steep, icy entrance is awkward in that you come from outside into a hall and have to go through the unkempt, out of date, dining room to a wait station. I've never seen a bathtub in a public bathroom and a more decrepit, rusty sink. I'll skip the hand washing here! Honestly, the owner needs to close. Overpriced and did not taste as good as it should have.

This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. The atmosphere felt like something out of an old, neglected movie set — not in a charming way.
Of the three waitstaff we saw, one looked presentable. The other two appeared completely unprepared, as if they had just walked in from working under a car or fixing plumbing. To be clear, I have absolutely no issue with people doing those kinds of jobs — honest work is honest work. The problem was that they looked like they hadn’t even taken a moment to change clothes or wash up before stepping onto the restaurant floor. In a dining environment, basic cleanliness and presentation matter.
Unfortunately, service didn’t improve from there. Our waiter couldn’t tell us the soup of the day, what beers were on tap, or what the specials were. Basic questions should have straightforward answers, especially in a restaurant setting.
We honestly considered leaving right away once it became clear the service was going to be an issue, but decided to stay and give the food a chance. That turned out to be a mistake. We left most of our meals untouched, paid the bill, and headed to another restaurant just a couple of minutes away to salvage the evening.
I rarely leave reviews like this, but this experience fell well below even modest expectations.

Drunken owner present and taking politics.

Food was pretty good, but the service was terrible! It sounds like the kitchen was understaffed, but our waiter never checked in with us and customers had to walk over to the bar to get refills on water. Liked the food, but wasn’t worth the supper club pricing because of the lack of service.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was truly disappointing. The food was bland, completely lacking flavor or seasoning, and absolutely not worth the inflated prices. For what they charge, I expected something fresh and carefully prepared, but everything tasted dull and uninspired.
To make matters worse, the service was terrible. The staff was inattentive, unhelpful, and acted as though checking on us was a burden. Questions about the menu were met with dismissive answers, staff were vaping inside the restaurant, and it felt like no one cared whether guests were actually enjoying their meals.
The final straw was when I drank my bulldog, only to realize the cream—something I’ve never had an issue with at other restaurants—was served curdled. Not only was it unappetizing, it showed a complete lack of attention and care. Disgusting.

Large place with a lounge and restaurant in separate buildings. The restaurant has three sitting areas, two amwith good views of the lake, and a large outdoor patio/sitting area
Food was very good and good portions.
The restaurant has been there since the late 1800's and is currently under new management so it has some history behind it and a fresh beginning also.
I will go back when I'm in the area again!

We were looking forward to brisket, but it was scribbled off of the menu. We wanted to order mozzarella sticks, but they only had cheese curds. I don't believe that those are even listed on the menu. The fried shrimp was chewy. You only get fresh bread with certain meals, which is kind of disappointing for a supper club. The mac and cheese was okay. Watermelon tea was fine. A chipmunk did try to sneak in while we were eating. The place is cute, but confusing. It's not clear where you're supposed to wait to be seated. Women's restroom doesn't lock. Overall, for the price, I would have expected a better dining experience. We will be skipping this one on our next visit.

Food was not good. Steak was not cooked well, maybe just pan fried without seasoning? Salmon was dry and overcooked. Cod fish basket and fries were cooked well, crispy. Server was very nice. Ambience was good. Neat old building with funky walls, several options of seating including outside and side room. Quiet.

Gorgeous view of Lake Superior from the restaurant. Yummy food at reasonable prices. Good service by Ioana.
