“Let me first start off by saying that I am sad we have to leave tomorrow. We certainly got more than we bargained for when booking this place. Not only are the rooms Competitively priced, they are bigger AND better than a cruddy ol' hotel. We Stayed in room #1. The layout has a HUGE bedroom with a separate sink area and then the toilet and shower/bath combo behind the door . The king size bed is a memory foam mattress. I honestly got the best night sleep that I’ve had in YEARS…
One thing worth noting is that there is no tv in the bedroom, this was not a concern for myself personally but it might be for someone else. Also there was no plug in for my phone on the right side of the bed but I just used the one by the dresser at the foot of the bed. Again, not a concern for me but for someone it might be. The living area is complete with a leather futon sofa, a nice lounge chair, a smart tv and board games also a kitchen table. The kitchen is attached to the living space which looks right out over the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the dishes to cook or bake. It also has a toaster, microwave, oven and a full sink and next to the sink in a cupboard you’ll find a fire extinguisher. It has a very nice wrap around deck and easy access to the water by using a side door. They have a small playground for kids and a tetherball. They also have canoes and kayaks, (I also believe a jet ski and maybe a pontoon to rent) I’m not 100% sure on that tho. There is a cabin next to the water that sells bait (I didn’t look in the tanks to see if there actually was any, but the tanks were running and bubbling so I assume something was in them) It looked like an honor system type situation as no one was in it and it had signs for prices. It’s in the little cabin where the lifejackets are hanging with a silver sink outside. There is a restaurant and bar on the premises with indoor and outdoor seating. Regretfully, I didn’t eat here as I had eaten earlier in the day and was still full and the next day I stayed was Sunday and they aren’t open on Sunday’s. Oh another thing to note (which also was a plus for me) is that it was SELF Check in. I walked into the building and on a bulletin board hung the keys to my room and a note with my name and the instructions. It was so simple and easy.
There is free WiFi. I read in the binder they leave on the kitchen table that the property also has a 24/7 community room. (I also didn’t check that out.
It is DOG friendly and my dog absolutely LOVED it here as well. My stay was quiet and peaceful. This place is only 15 min from Grand Marais. We WILL be coming again!! Thank You for making our stay unforgettable! - Amber and Solar (the longhaired dachshund)
Ps sorry the pictures are after we messed up the room haha. I had taken a video before we messed it up but google wouldn’t let me post that. (Thankfully I copied and pasted my Google review because Google wouldn’t let me post it 😡) so I’ll post it here instead :)“
