Loved coming here as a kid, feels like they haven't recovered since the pandemic and need a refresh. Outdoor seating would also be amazing!
Pizza was great but expensive. Service was ok and the restaurant is old. Which is fine if you keep clean. It took us 30 minutes to get our pizza. There is a sign the call out staff shortage so you need to clean your table after finishing. Also, you need to get your order.
I get the old school vibe, but then why are the prices so outrageous? The sink only had hot water, so my son had to nearly burn himself to wash off the soap. The pizza was ok, a little on the soggy side.
Not sure what the hype is all about.
Cool place, good pizza
Great pizza!!!
Serve yourself, with a big fat tip jar in your face.
I miss the Sven and Ole's heydays. It was a vibrant place with the bar on back on the upper deck. Glad to see they are still there.
I sure love the sauce on the pizza. Will be back next time we are up.

Solid small town pizza with a weird business model that I actually prefer.
You order at a counter, pay, then go take a seat in a separate dining area. They give you a buzzer and you go pick up your food when it is done. You then bus your own table and leave when you're done. There are signs all over stating that this business model is because of "staffing shortages" but if I'm being honest I think I prefer restaurants like this. No tipping necessary, no waiting around for your bill, it honestly eliminates the most annoying parts of eating out for me.
The "uff da" pizza (supreme) pizza was really good and even though we ordered thin crust and got pan, the regular pan crust is still relatively thin and I was happy with it.
This isn't cheap pizza at about $30 for a 14", but it was enough to feed 3 people and with this business model (read, no extra server tipping) was easily still the cheapest meal we had on our Grand Marais get away despite also being one of the best. I'd come again if I was ever in the area.

Took almost an hour to get 1 pizza. Seriously. The pizza was good but not worth the wait. Don’t go if you’re hungry.

This has been a must stop and enjoy a good pizza for years! Pizza is always fresh and delicious. Lines get long, but it's worth the wait.
