When in Grand Rapids, bring your cooler and pack it full of 'miner hand pies' better known as delicious PASTIES. There's only a handful of places from The UP (of Michigan) over to The Iron Range who not only make and serve delicious Pasties, but have them frozen or freezer ready to go. Please make Pasties Plus a stop on your way. This is a take out and take home place. I recall seeing one small table. So don't bring a group here to eat. Call ahead and order for your group, family or yourself. Then stop in. Take out. And enjoy. PS - I suggest cutting your hot Pastie in half. Partly to let the heat and savory smells out, but also so you can douse one side with ketchup while you taste the other side straight up.

We stopped at lunch on our way to a family reunion. My wife and I each had a pasty with the rutabaga and they were delicious !! One small table to sit at and the lady working was friendly and very entertaining.
