2 of our party got pan fried walleye. mushy and inedible. I had ribeye-very cheap, tiny cut. ordered side of mushrooms and onions for steak-onions were literally raw, not cooked at all. the atmosphere and waitress were nice-just felt like they had a 12 yr old in back cooking.

The prime rib, stick to your bones good comfort food. The service was very good and fast, even though there is a worker shortage. Lauren our server was very prompt with drinks and food and was attentive to make sure we had everything. A nice place for food and drinks. The portions were very generous. We came in Saturday for drinks and some food and had a younger gal with a couple nose rings as our bartender. She was extremely sweet and always made sure our drinks were full and that everything was good. Food was good, drinks were a little pricey, what seemed to be the owner looked like she kept hovering over the staff….kind of uncomfortable. Your staff is great, maybe be kinder to them.

When I don’t feel like cooking, I call the Birchwood Char House. Food is always excellent, daily specials, mouth watering desserts, and the friendliest staff around!! Love Taco Tuesday and I never miss it due to needing my taco fix ;). Broasted chicken is finger licking delicious, and the prime rib special (I believe Saturdays) will have your tummy feeling like you won the lottery!

We have been to Birchwood a few times. Always give a place multiple opportunities to impress us. They have failed over and over. The service is awful, despite it not being that busy. The food is just fair, which does not justify the high prices. I do love popovers, but they are not enough to keep me coming back when we are mostly disappointed.

Waited over 75 min for food, waitress came to our table twice to take order, she forgot she had taken it the first time.
Nice place considering it's in Hackensack and there was no other place to eat. Service was a bit slow, could have been the family of 20 that slowed things down. My burger was good. Cooked just right. Atmosphere was what you'd expect up north.

Wasn't that busy waitress rather play on phones than wait on customers, there was 4 of us dining an 3 of the four meals arrived an when asked about the last meal all the said was the cook forgot about it time the last meal arrived everyone was done eating never going back to this place the food we did get wasn't worth what we paid for it

Broasted chicken was fine enough. Had some issues here previously, not sure how much other food I would order. Ordered a basket of fries and received a "side" they said, so then ordered a basket and it was literally the same amount of fries as the "side" we received for $4 more. Bogus.
