“I stopped in to Thirsty Pagan Brewing to try a couple of their brews. They had 9 of their beers on including an Amber, American pale ale, dark ale, west coast IPA, cream ale, an orange cream, pineapple pale ale, pilsner, and a Hazy IPA. Pagan has a nice outdoor seating area. The bar area had plenty of space with high ceilings, with lots of the historic feel that you expect in Superior. The service was friendly and fast. Pagan a full bar and a pizza and app menu if you get hungry. The Superior/Duluth area has a ton of brewery options and you should put this one on your list.“

“Very cool brewery in downtown Duluth. The owners and their dogs were all friendly. They have a modern vibe, live music, tons of space, with more seating in the back. They had 16 beers on for my stop including: a hefe, blonde, pepper, dill, wild berry tart, blood orange pineapple mango, peach sour, a Belgian strong, cranberry Belgian strong, a pale ale, hazy IPA, NEIPA, West coast IPA, and a Imperial Stout. I liked the Belgian and the stout. I am sure I will stop back again to try more.“

“It must be a night "off". I ordered a small lasagna with an extra slice of garlic bread. Upon opening, the lasagna was deconstructed. the sauce was amazing but chunky! The meal was luke warm and tasted microwaved. I'll try again because the sauce is so good. *Sidenote* I was told 5 p.m. so the driver who came back from delivery took my name. The young woman was so friendly when she came out! Unless it had been sitting 15 minutes, it shouldn't have been luke warm with hard cheese. I recommend a second try but not sure when. There are many places with hot, fresh lasagna.“

“Blackwoods catered my son’s wedding yesterday. Overall we would recommend them, but there were a few glitches. The tablecloths we picked up from them the day before the wedding were the wrong size and, despite being sealed in plastic, there were quite a few set in stains. I phoned and left a message about the issue, and no one bothered to return my call. Not a promising start. On the day of the wedding, the staff arrived on time, and everything was set up and ready to go as planned. For the most part the food was good, but the ham was awful. It was tough and the pieces were cut into huge chunks, many of which were full of fat and gristle. We had people who normally love ham refusing to eat it. Since it was one of the main dishes, the ham was a huge disappointment, especially for the money paid. The turkey, however, was moist and tasty. The staff members were helpful and professional. They willingly boxed up leftovers for the wedding couple, which was much appreciated, and they left the church kitchen clean.“

The last few times its clear how run down this spot is becoming - you have such a great location, beautiful view of lake superior, tourist hot spot ... but its sad how run down its becoming, carpets, worn down booths. . . . “I returned to the Applebee's recently, as my visit a couple of weeks ago had left a great impression. I take back my earlier comments about the service. I was left a bit confused this time. I ordered the "Big Cluckin’ Chicken Sandwich" again, and the food was once more, excellent. However, while taking our order, the waitress mentioned something about her shift was ending, which felt a bit off. Midway through the meal, I asked for more fries, and she brought them out promptly. But then she told me the special I’d ordered wasn’t available anymore despite it still being listed on your website.

I get it, the young lady serving us was ready to end her shift, but claiming the offer was discontinued left me confused and frustrated. I’m not sure if I’ll be back after this.“
