I used to love getting a chicken Schwarma when I was in town, but the last visit was a huge disappointment. the chicken was pale and had no flavor, it looked boiled. it used to come off the spit with a little char on the edges and loads of flavor. To top it off the pita was really stale. so the whole sandwich was a dry flavorless mess.

I had a 9” chicken shawarma and the chicken looked and tasted like it came out of a can. It was wrapped in a tortilla. Have not had this happen in the past.

Massads is a must eat at place in Mankato. My college roommates and I would go to the store on campus all the time when they were near U-Square. The Chicken Schwarma and the sauce inside is super good (usually get it in a tortilla). They have other options for food which are really good as well.

I always stop at Massad's when in Mankato, probably for 20 years. The guys at the counter were super helpful with ideas to do a gluten-free shawarma. I went with the salad+pickles over the deconstructed pita because it was more of a meal. I also got tabbouleh. All the veggies were crisp and the meal was full of great flavors. Some of the best food in Mankato
