801 Chophouse was a lovely experience. We had gotten a coupon to visit and it was worth the trip. Our waiter, Patrick, was so attentive but not hovering, suggesting wonderful items we took him up on. The Surf and Turf was tender and the Bernaise sauce, while thinner than the norm, was delicious. We had strawberry shortcake for dessert and the pastry biscuit melted in our mouth. Afterwards we got a private tour and history of the restaurant by Jace who couldn't have been nicer....
Tried 801 Chophouse for the first time last night and it is now my favorite Minneapolis restaurant - easily beats every other downtown Minneapolis steakhouse. Steak was tender and not over-charred, halibut with pasta was cooked perfectly and very flavorful, French green beans side was delicious, and the Black Bottom Cake was amazing - even for two people who are very picky about dessert!
