Kind and friendly staff!
My partner and I had our first date at Angel Food Bakery when it was still in downtown Minneapolis (gone but not forgotten!!) when it came around to our wedding we were searching high and low for a cake and found out Angel Food Bakery made cakes alongside really amazing donuts!! We picked up a cake tasting box and LOVEEED the passion fruit and caramel fillings. Very important to note we'd been to a few cake tastings already and were blown away by the quality at AFB. The cake wasn't dry or dense, and well balanced with the icing and filling. When I think of wedding cakes, it checks off every box!!!
We did a cake table for our wedding and got the best of both worlds by having half with passion fruit and the other with caramel, and our guests loved it as well!! We had sooo many compliments and felt so proud to say that our wonderful cakes came from the same place we met <3 Thank you Angel Food Bakery!!!

Second time I got a donut from Angel Food. First one fantastic but disappointed when got one a couple of weeks later. Only 3 donuts left of the kind in display window. Tasted like it was sitting out for awhile. Dry. There were more that were on trays ready to be restocked. At $3.85 for a medium sized donut, they should be fresh. Wish I would have asked before purchasing. Nice staff.

We went in on a Saturday afternoon so maybe not the best time but In my opinion if a bakery is open all day it should have quality all day. At first I was a little skeptical because I wanted to get a cake in a jar but noticed it was freezer burned so we went with donuts. The donuts looked a little old but we wanted to try the flavors! I do not recommend. They were dense and a bit dry and got stale very fast. The flavor wasnโt really there either. For almost 30 dollars for 6 donuts we were very disappointed.

Awesome coffee. Killer donuts and cookies. Im not much of a cupcake guy but they look pretty top notch, a few savory options for breakfast.

Both locations have skilled, attentive and hard-working staff that remain kind even when handling sometimes very large crowds in line. The quality of the ingredients and recipes and knowledge of the craft and art of baking their items is unparalleled. Also, the variety and creativity of every item are both pleasing to see and delicious to eat. Oh, and, if hungry, at breakfast their sausage egg cheese sandwich on a gorgeously crafted biscuit is guaranteed to satisfy. And, if you like coffee, their baristas can prepare from a wide variety for you.
