Excellent beer list, good pub comfort food, and fun selection of board games and classic NES!

We live right around the corner from the Chatterbox and we'd really love for it to be a neighborhood place we could always feel good about going to. In that spirit, I thought to give it another shot (last visit 2.5 years ago with same rating I'd say). I tried the chit chat club wrap and the cobb salad, split with my daughter. I ate it because I was hungry and had paid for it. Especially the wrap, the flavor and ingredient combinations are just bizarre and not good. The salad was not good to ok, but was piled way too high on too small a plate. The service was fine, average. No deficiency in it. Finally the atmosphere. The big hole they dig for themselves here is what they had playing on their TVs. They were playing some early 80s or late 70s mystery kids show with some sci-fi elements. Almost like the Magic Tree House books meets Dr. Who. To me, it was totally unnecessary and felt like there was something on just to have something on. I think it's too distracting. Why not just have some music that fits that allows for conversation?!? One other thing on the atmosphere and this is pretty specific to my situation, but one in our party is cognitively impaired/early Alzheimer's and their vision is affected by it. At one point, they were sitting back down in their chair and ended up falling down to the floor. It seemed like they had difficulty distinguishing the black, rolling chairs from the dark carpet, in the dark room. Could be a good idea to have more visually contrasting elements in the rooms and/or better lighting. I hope something can change at the Chatterbox. A menu redesign is needed. I'm not looking for great, but at least good. I'm thinking Buster's or The Howe.

Normally the service and food have been amazing but this time service was unacceptably rude and non-existant, no apologies were made. Will not be returning

Food was OK, service was slow and the place felt crowded and loud. I tried to play at open mic night but signup process was confusing and favored locals. I won't go back.

Really good deep dish pizza.. flavorful sauce and good toppings! Had the pretzel starter that has an incredible savory dip. Highly recommend both! Dinning area with a upscale yet friendly atmosphere. Back house is a fun Karaoke spot with a speakeasy feel. Check it out.

Fish was way overcooked and buried in a very thick batter. Horrible. Chips were seasoned and quite good but small portion hidden under fish. Cole slaw was excellent but a tiny amount. Ordered a second beer but never got it. Loud annoying music.

Classic neighborhood bar with a cool art deco vibe. My old fashioned was good, not too sweet. Their loaded macaroni and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. The people were friendly, and I appreciated how it was busy but not excessively loud.

Cozy neighborhood bar, basically split into two sides: a bar area with booths and a few tables, and a small room around the corner with tables, a small stage, and 2 couches with old tv's near them hooked up to original Nintendo. Some board games are available as well. Good for couples or small groups and families. Would not recommend bringing a group over 4 without calling ahead unless you want a dirty look from the bartender.Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair friendly

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly place with all the games they have available to keep them occupied. The macaroni and cheese is a huge hit with the kids as well!

Looks like a cute place stopped by but they stated they were on a 30 minute wait however when I walked around to see the place as I had never been and there were several open tables. Not sure why they refused to seat us but I won’t be back as it was quite a drive. Even host shrugged his shoulders did not know why he couldn’t seat us.

Food is great prices are great. The service is hit or miss, go there for the food and atmosphere but expect the service to suck.

Change the recipe for your fish and chips, I told my bartender that the breading was soft and soggy and they told me that it's a common complaint for that dish.
