Outstanding experience. This place brought back so many memories. It had so much charm and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The store itself is like walking into your weird uncle's garage (if your weird uncle were really into tea and roasting coffee). It's crammed full of boxes of tea and coffee. This isn't a place to come quietly peruse, it's a place to come and wonder aloud about a particular coffee or tea, inviting the conversation of the wonderful team behind the counter. Come ready to converse and you will be rewarded. What about the coffee and tea?First, real tea. None of the overwrought dried fruit salads or sugared madness many teas have become. While there are a few flavored teas, you'll find mostly classics like puh-erh, gunpowder, genmaicha, lapsang suchong and the like. The coffee will take you back to the early 90s where dark roasts thrived. The varietals available are stunning. Coffees from many places rarely seen in the mainstream and even niche coffee markets. When's the last time you saw Cameroon or Sulawesi on a shelf? And the espresso is especially great. A very European style, particularly the espresso noce, which was very much like drinking espresso in Naples.Definitely recommend stopping by.

Easily the best coffee and tea purveyors in the Midwest. They are incredibly knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and incredibly unpretentious. They are happy to answer questions, and every recommendation they have given me over the years has been fantastic.Truly a treasure of the Twin Cities. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Just went here 10 minutes ago, I love this place so much. Their coffee is so good and the people in there are so nice. I also like that it's not really a sit down place so it's not loud, just warm and peaceful. The people in there are very kind and the coffee is fresh, not pre-packaged (: fancy

The best selection of coffee in the city. They are ina league of their own! Always enjoy chatting them up when I am there

If you’re looking for a cup of coffee or tea, look elsewhere. This place seems promising for sourcing beans and leaves but when I walked in I wasn’t even greeted, just asked if I had preordered and then the employees seemed irritated when I asked if they sold iced tea to go. I would have stuck around and purchased tea leaves and/or beans (I appreciate high quality) had that not been my experience.

Just got my first 1/2 pound of beans and I’ll surely be returning. Beautifully roasted, fresh beans. Made AMAZING coffee; it’s worth the price.

100% the best coffee in the Twin Cities. Over and over again I will continue to be satisfied.

My first job was working for Mr. Cone a thousand years ago. I learned so much about coffee, tea, and how he chose top quality beans and leaves. His roasting process is second to none. Even my cheapskate parents switched to his coffees after I started working there until they could no longer get to his store. I make a trek to Linden Hills as often as I can for the best.

So thankful for the random tip from a couple sitting outside the bookstore down the block to get a cup of coffee here. We were visiting from Canada, and this was hands down the best cup of coffee we've had. Hole in the wall shop, friendly service, finest coffee in the twin cities (and we were told the last $1 cup of coffee around)! So good. We hope to visit again!

I have been buying coffee here since the 80s. There is nothing in the USA that compares to Coffee Tea Ltd. This guy Jim Cone knows how to roast coffee. He gets coffee from all over the world. The staff is as awesome as the coffee.

Counter store with stuff everywhere, even had a piece of furniture blocking the walkway. There's not much to see and no where to sit. If you're looking to buy something here, maybe, but it's not really a cafe.

It’s a coffee shop for coffee nerds. It’s not a trendy cafe, it’s not an office away from home, it’s just a hobbit hole of coffee, tea and enthusiasm. They have been importing and roasting locally for decades, way before it was hip. My only option for a truly acceptable cup of coffee.Jim is great, been there for ages, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely check this place out.

I happily drive an hour from Wisconsin to get my coffee here. Fantastic coffee, wonderful roasts, massive selection.
