First time at Dexter's and it was great. Lively and clearly a new hotspot. The hostess was amazing in how she handled the throngs of people. So friendly and professional. Our table wasn't immediately available and we had a drink at the bar and were seated a few minutes later. Server was great. Casual, friendly and normal. Food was great. We'll be back.
The food was really good. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday night, but our server was meh. Seemed to check in more frequently on the tables right next to us. The tables are very close, so could have easily just turned around to check in. Probably would have stayed for another drink if more attention was paid. Also, marked we were celebrating a birthday on our reservation, but no mention of it. Could have just asked if we were there for anything special. On the plus side, we received a free drink as they were out of the first 2 beers I chose.
Really wanted to give this a 5-star review, but unfortunately I couldn't. The food was fantastic. No notes! The service, however, fell short. It took several minutes for our server to come to the table, and when we went to order drinks, most of the beers were unavailable and only a few holiday cocktails remained. I completely understand that this can happen during a busy season, but a quick heads-up about what was available before ordering would have been appreciated. Overall, the kitchen truly delivered, and with a little more attentiveness and communication from the service staff, this place has the potential to be a 5-star experience!
Overall great experience. Food is always good. A reliable destination. Service was a bit tough for our dining experience, they ran out of wineglasses twice throughout our stay. We were not in a hurry so it didn't bother us, but I could see that impacting experience for some diners.
Pretty disappointing. The food is always pretty good but every time I've been the service is terrible. The wait staff don't seem to care whether you are happy or not. Slow service, forgotten orders and not helpful. Burgers are yummy but very expensive and don't come with fries. Just not a great experience.
Was slow to have our server greet us and after about fifteen minutes, two different severs came to the table. Seems like they didn't know whose section we were in. Drinks also took a really long time to come out. Food was good but I ordered a steak med rare and it came out blue. This is now the third restaurant I've ordered a steak at in the cities where this has happened and I'm getting annoyed. (I worked in fine dining and know steak temps so this isn't a me problem.) Fries were tasty and drinks were strong when we finally got them. The holiday decorations were cute and the music was fun. Good vibes but could use a little more coordination from the staff and the cooks could temp their meat more accurately.
Dexter‘s never fails to delight! The food is consistently yummy. They had some very inventive cocktails for the holidays. My dining partner chose the Wagu burger and said it was one of the best burger she ever had. The service is always prompt. So glad Dexter's moved to our neighborhood!
Had a great dinner with fun and delicious cocktails. Do yourself a favor and stop for an incredible food experience!!
Don't take reservations if you're not going to abide by them. We never got in an hour and a half later we left
Always a great experience at Dexter's. The food, drinks, and service were great and the Christmas vibes were top notch.

Great restaurant- seemed somewhat unprepared for busy holiday crowd but we loved the food and atmosphere and plan to return during a less busy time.
The staff amazing the decor was fantastic and the shrimp app and our entrees were delish!!! 10 out of 10
Our first visit at Dexters was amazing. From the Christmas setup to the staff and food it was a great experience. Must try the rock shrimp tempura and Dexters burger was top notch.
The best food in its class. We had the prime rib which was outstanding. Extremely great value, 60 dollars and served with wedge salad, onion rings and creamed spinach. Absolutely delicious and for sure my favorite prime rib in Minneapolis and Edina. Drinks were so fun, atmosphere was lively. Every seat was full and there was a long list of people waiting to get in but despite that service was top notch! Will be back for their brunch and late night Happy hour which looks incredible too. 10/10!
First time visit. Service was great, as were the wings. Burger and French dip were as advertised, fantastic. We will be back.
