As a fellow Hmong person who finds comfort in familiar cuisines, I've been meaning to try Diane's Place since it first opened. I really appreciate how Diane turns the meals that I grew up eating into an elevated dining experience. We ordered the Sour Pork Short Ribs, Eggroll Stuffed Chicken, Red Curry Soup, Duck Stew and then the Chocolate Custard Torte for dessert - which were all easily shareable between three people. Everything tasted delightful, hearty and made with care.
We reserved a table on a Saturday night which may have been why it was very loud with chatter and overhead music. Also, I do wish that the tables were a little more spaced out by at least an inch or two especially on a busy night. Overall, I had a wonderful time, and I would definitely return to enjoy brunch and the pastries.

I ordered the noodle and took out the left over. When I almost finished everything I chewed on a black rubber thing. This is making me nauseous

My husband and I have been going to Diane’s place since they’ve been opened! We love love love the food, service and environment so much! TAYV and the bar staffs are always so pleasant and welcoming. I highly recommend Diane’s place! The Hmong sausage and steam pork rolls are tasteful. Their coconut pandan croissant is top notch!!!!

Diane stopped by our table to check in on how our dinner was going. She was incredibly nice and welcoming. I can't say enough about how wonderful everything was.

Stopped in for coffee and pastries - getting to the coffee counter is a little difficult when they're busy, but other than the crowded waiting area it was beautiful and everything tastes incredible

Terrific Hmong American fare. Food was absolutely delicious, not too salty, not too oily. We had a company event in their private dining area. Staff friendly and very attentive.

My friends and I had such a fantastic experience! We had incredible service from the front of house staff to our waiter, who were always courteous and kind from the moment we arrived. We did not feel rushed and ended up sitting and chatting for 2-3 hours over our meal. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The food was SO GOOD, especially the Hmong sausage and the pastries. We truly cannot wait to come back to try more (or have more of our favorites!)!

went with coworkers for a lovely brunch! some of us had been there before, but most of us it was the first time
everyone enjoyed their meals and those who took pastries home really enjoyed them.
overall consensus was “great lunch, but spendy”
perhaps going for a dinner might hurt a little less financially.
we were a group of 7 so gratuity was automatically added. they didn’t have a way to have separate checks which was slightly annoying. obviously not a dealbreaker but something to be aware of.
likely will not be back for a regular meal but great for a special occasion!

Beautiful pastries, mouth-watering entrees, and exceptional customer service. This is a huge win all around, and no surprise given Chef Diane’s reputation (we actually met her while dining and she is the most kind, confident, friendly person!). We came for brunch and I’ve never felt more seen than when I ordered vegetarian egg rolls at 9:30am. We got two pastries to share, the coconut kouign amann and the mango-passionfruit-lychee croissant, and both were supremely amazing. The food here is clearly created with care, honoring Hmong roots. There is something special happening here, and I hope that many others continue to experience it as well. Thank you 😊

If you’re looking for brunch & have dietary restrictions: Gluten-free AND Vegetarian (not even vegan), this isn’t the place for you.
I wanted to give love, but couldn’t actually try anything beyond coffee. Acknowledging that my food restrictions are a pain & that’s a me-problem, but usually there’s something I can eat!!! At first glance I thought this was a safe place to eat, but left w/o getting to try from the place everyone was excited about.
‘Mango SALAD’ uses fish sauce 😕. ‘Pan fried bean thread noodles’ dish option wasn’t labeled gf..& only after leaving (& looking up the menu again online) did I see that the “chicken noodle soup (gf), can be made vegan/vegetarian” (which wasn’t intuitive or obvious.. u know by the title “chicken noodle”) and the server did not suggest this option. I ordered just a side of eggs over easy, the yolks were completely runny, not just like 75%.. it was like soup & the whites were runny too which was a big ick.. I didn’t want to make a fuss with my party (bc it was already a lil weird to reassure everyone I was fine not eating anything) & send them back bc I’d already accepted my fate as this being a coffee date for me.
Pastries look awesome for those who eat gluten, but vegetarians might want to also beware bc of comments on here about lard use, so beware of that & confirm with staff.
My suggestion to Diane’s is to also add the “(V)” on the brunch menu for user experience .. menu does have “(gf)& (df)” notations all over, but my guess was maybe everything had fish sauce and this was simply not a safe place for me to eat at?
Everyone else in my group said the food was good though, so I’m happy for them!!
Just maybe a skip for those that are both vegetarian/vegan AND have gluten issues.

Everything was delicious. Every single thing on the menu that we tried tasted incredible. I would recommend for dinner the hmong pulled pork, mini scallion croissants, and beef laab carpaccio! Looking forward to coming back!
