Local Restaurant for me .. good food and I like supporting locals... My family has been coming here for years. Chimichanga's my kryptonite

First off I like to say that I'm not that hard to please and that rarely do I give a one-star rating but imo that is generous and let me tell you why.. I'm not sure if the waitress was having a bad day or what but she clearly didn't want to take our order and had a pretentious attitude. I had the number eight which was a tamale and beef enchilada combo with beans and rice for 15.50$ & my son had steak asada tacos w beans and rice for 20$. When our food came Alex's rare steak was well done & the waitress said " I know I tried telling him but he wldnt listen". She did bring it back to him to redo and in the meantime I took a bite of my tamale which wasn't cooked all the way through it was cold in the middle and it had a chalky consistency my tamale was greasy, tasteless and really salty! BUT I WAS STARVING AND I THOUGHT I COULD STOMACH IT BUT I REALLY COULD NOT. ALEX GOT HIS Steak BACK AND IT WAS WELL DONE again but he chose to eat it anyways and he did like the red beans and rice I did not I thought the rice tasted like dirty dishwater and the beans had no flavor, the waitress said that the cook was new and in training and that's why. Which is fine and all, the kid has to learn, but you still have to make it right. right? The manager came out to ask how everything was and I told her and she replied with "oh ok" and walked away. I had to ask the busboy for our chips and salsa while we were waiting for food then I had to ask him again for our bill or we'd still be waiting. The restaurant wasn't busy and had plenty of staff. Super disappointed that they didn't at least try to make it right and or apologize and that is the reason why a 1 ⭐. Thanks for reading and if this has helped you with your decision plz give a thumbs up, id appreciate it kindly and make it a great day ✌️??

Burrito Loco and Fajita Chicken Salad are AMAZINGLY Huge! I’ve been here before several times and usually the food is good but this time is was just “ok”. The burrito was overfilled with beans and rice with little steak, shrimp, chicken or chorizo for $18. The salad was a sloppy mess of liquid from the beans and fajita pepper juices with little chicken inside, the shell was good for $15? My beer was $5 and my son’s spicy margarita (medium) was $15. Too expensive to just be “ok”.

Food was pretty good though a bit pricey relative to others in the area, but the service, terrible. Oir entire time there oor waittess came to our table once. The only reason we got silverware and refills was because the hostess came around trying to help. Good hostess, horrible waitress. To top it off after waiting 15 minutes for the check I ended up going and paying up front because the waitress was nowhere to be found.

The food was excellent. They gave hugh proportions, we should have split! But the waitress was not good at all, she forgot things, like our tortillas for our Fajitas and my husband's refill and didn't know the menu very well. We had to flag her down many times to get her to come to our table. She was busy talking to friends. We did have other workers come and help us, and they were good. We will definitely come back for the food but a different waitress!

It's become dark and gloomy. Our server could have cared less that we were even there. She was obviously preoccupied. They got our take out order wrong. It's gotten very expensive. It's just not the fun, happy atmosphere it used to be. You can tell the employees are not there because they love it. Not like they use to. Sad experience. Use to be one of our favorite spots.

Food was wonderful, servers are kind! Only reason for the 4 stars is that the credit card machine was down and they did not accept checks so some of my party had to leave the restaurant to go to the bank. They were nice about it, it was just super inconvenient.

We have been here for the last time. We've had bad service twice before so we thought we would give it one more shot/ 3 strikes and they're out due to not offered chips, salsa, and queso, and water upon arrival. Asked for a shot of Brandy, they had none, so a shot of tequilla, and waitress forgot, again. The food was not anything special anymore due to language barriers and took too long too (as all waitstaff were busy talking and on their phones). Then to share a strawberry margarita and there were fruit fly bugs in it. I'm done. We did not get charged for that but why would a 1 oz shot of tequilla cost double what it used too? We think they doubled the shot price for the margarita mishap. We will never step foot in this particular restaurant again. Shame, it used to be great food, great service and reasonable, now it's dead to us. Thanks for nothing El Toro in Robbinsdale, Mn

A surprisingly great choice for Sunday after church. We were the only guests for about 5 minutes. Prompt, friendly service. HUGE menu -- so perfect if you like lots of choices. Big portions, reasonable prices. Very flavorful. I'm not qualified to judge authenticity, but it was much tastier than fast food and food truck experiences.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Robbinsdale, portions were good, flavors are on point, guacamole was yummy. Definitely will come back, It was so busy we didn’t even get a booth.

Some of the worst restaurant service ever! We watched a full table walk out after being ignored. They ignored my wife and I also and when food finally came they forgot her food. They then asked what she ordered. They ran and made it quick only for it to be wrong!! Terrible service and food was just OK!!!

What Happened!? This place used to have fast, friendly service and was really enjoyable. They no longer have the Mexican Ranch (white sauce) with the chips. The quality of the food also declined. But most notably the service is super slow, and we had to ask for multiple items that were missing. We never received refills after asking for them. It pains me to be so critical of, what was once our favorite casual Mexican restauran.

This was my favorite place in Robbinsdale and couldn't wait to go back since they finally reopened. We went last night and service was normal and slow, but since the new owners took over all of the prices have doubled. 3 tacos are $16 for a tiny scoop of meat. Portions are half the size and they make you pay $2.00 for extra chips. I am so disappointed. Not going back anytime soon. :(

The servers were very pleasant but my burrito/enchilada combo was bland - even to a Minnesotan. The ground beef barely seemed seasoned. It wouldn't be my fist choice if I was seeking Mexican food in the future.
