We stopped in for a late dinner around 7:30 pm. The parking lot was full but luckily one car was leaving so we got lucky. The wait was 25 minutes for walk ins. We got seated in the main dining room off to the side in a booth for 2. I ordered the shrimp dinner with asparagus. My husband ordered a chicken salad. Both were really good. We were wondering what the salad dressing was but the menu was faded out so we couldn't see the detail of his salad. He really liked it nonetheless. Our waitress was top notch. She checked in on us at just the right times but not so much that she was annoying. Food came out pretty quickly. It was loud but not too loud where we couldn't hear each other at booth for two. Overall we had an enjoyable dinner with 2 beers each for under $100. We will definitely return again sometime.
This was my 3rd visit to The Hilltop and have to say, it never disappoints. The servers are all so friendly and helpful, the food is consistently great, and excellent cocktails. I've lived in Minneapolis for 40 years and up until 2 years ago, I can't believe I had never heard of The Hilltop! So happy to have found this gem of a gathering spot!
The Hilltop has good food and a great location with reasonable prices. We had a reservation but still ended up waiting about 20 minutes to be seated. Our waitress seemed rushed and wasn't very attentive; my order got mixed up, and she wasn't very kind when I pointed it out. It felt like the staff wasn't quite prepared for the busy Sunday brunch crowd. Despite this, I'm willing to give The Hilltop another try on a different day.
The meal and the service were excellent. We had all been to Hilltop in the past, and this latest visit did not disappoint. All went great. Thank you.
The Hilltop is a smaller restaurant with a lot of history and a well deserved reputation for delivering a great dining experience. Super service, menu accommodating anyone's taste buds, excellent mixologists and cozy ambience. Love it!
Hadn't been to this place in years. Food was great and the patio we sat on was shady and comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient.
Food is always good, server was efficient and pleasant. Noise level is always a little high. A good experience.
Service was great, food and drinks were great. It was a little loud but we were seated by the bar area. Overall 10/10
Really good food at fair prices. At lunch time, we appreciate being able to order both breakfast and lunch items. Have been here frequently and never disappointed. Only negative this time was the poor service. Our waitress didn,t listen well and ignored much of what we specified in our orders.
Good selection on the menu - from burger to salmon. Cuban is quite good. Food comes hot. Service staff very friendly. Nice selection of beer. You might want reservations or at least check - it can be quite busy.

I'm on the search for the tastiest Cuban sandwich. And just found it here! Of course I'll still search right?
Always good prompt service but yesterday was the exception ... we were there at 1 pm so it wasn't busy. Finally was going to find a server but none was to be seen. Finally we flagged one down .. most unusual. But, you asked and those are the facts of our visit.
Very nice place to meet and eat. We will be back. However people in adjacent booth were very loud and noisy...until their food was served!
Great atmosphere on the Patio. Service was good. Menu selection for breakfast was varied with good meal choices. Food portions were good and meals were tasty.
My friend and I went to The Hilltop for lunch, thinking that all the road construction would mean they needed our support. Hah! The place was packed, with a full waiting area! The food is delicious -- and the service is first-rate! Happy to know that everything is going well for The Hilltop!
