Was told I wouldn’t be served and had to leave the second I walked through the door. The waitress said “she works at a bar and knows when to kick people out”. Sober as ever and very confused. Check it out if you want a horrible time!!!!

My uncle brought me to this bar last week and got me and 1 other guy a drink plus tipped. Later that night maybe a hour later I returned with my cousin who was buying a couple rounds. He started joking with the bartender about wether or not she wanted to count her money to make sure it was correct who stated she felt uncomfortable and intimidated. I let her know that he didn't mean any harm and that he was also tipping her.The bartender lady stated that she was really upset because somebody I had came in with earlier didn't pay for his drink. I then stated that he did because he paid with cad and signed his receipt. She told us we had to leave and try again another time.All in all that was probably the most unprofessional I have ever been treated at any bar in downtown Minneapolis. If your having a bad day do not blame it on the customers. And find a different job if you aren't able to deal with human being and their energy. And she still was tipped. And not all black people look alike.

I hate being "that guy" and leaving a review about a place publicly, but this one deserves it. I can't believe I paid good money for some of the most awful food I've ever had. I love Mackenzies, I do admit, I haven't been there in a year or so, but I don't remember the food being this horrible! Came in before Twolves game the other night, they were out of half of the things on the menu, Scotch eggs, pretzels, etc. Paid for a frozen Heggies pizza (which was prob the best thing we got). Didn't they use to make pizzas? Was told the taco was so hard it almost chipped her tooth. I ordered the pub burger, the patty was a hockey puck. Tiny little burned sad excuse of a burger. Drinks were great, they still do that well! I'm mad at myself for not mentioning it at the time to the waitress and just gutting the food. Like a good little Midwesterner I even paid a nice tip on it! The worst thing.... The smoked wings were so over cooked and somehow cold! Both dry rub and sauced, a couple of them had a very charcoal kind of feel to them. I'm hoping this was just an off night, I do really like the place.

We’ve stopped here a few times prior to shows at the orpheum and it is always busy so know what you want before you get there. Service was slow everytime and prices don’t fit the quality of food served. We’ve decided to move on from McKenzies.

Had the wings. They were tasty and well cooked. The Louisiana Hot sauce wasn't hot, but flavorful. The pretzel we got was subpar, but everything else was amazing.

Terrible. I called to confirm that the restaurant and kitchen were open and they said yes both are still open (for hours). So I decided to go and when I showed up they said that the kitchen was closed. What? This was well before (over an hour) the time the person on the phone said the kitchen would close. While I was deciding where to go next, I was getting a headache because of how loud it was. The only reason I have 2 stars was because they offered suggestions of where to go instead.

Mackenzie (waitress, no relation to restaurant) is amazing. Marinara rivals any Italian restaurant. Ranch was phenomenal. Beer selection is very good… something for everyone. Recommend

good experience overall, unfortunately they dont have etabs if thats what your looking for. Ill be going back though!
