Marna's Eatery and Lounge

We had a reservation for 6:15 p.m. and definitely didn't need one, there were only two tables of people up front by the open kitchen. Parking was a breeze in the parking lot. We loved the decor and tropical vibe at Marna's; it was very relaxing. To start, we had the seared scallops, which were tiny. My husband had the Casado (with chicken) and I selected the El Dorado. I was sad that my coconut habanero rice didn't have more flavor and my husband could tell, because he swapped plates with me at the halfway point so I could have some of his absolutely delicious Casado. I did order the La Pina, and while visually appealing, the flavor was meh.

The biggest downfall of this place was our server, Victoria. She clearly didn't care to be there and showed zero interest in providing a good experience for her diners. She zipped off after plopping the drinks on our table and we had to wait a while for her to reappear so we could flag her down to say she brought my husband wine instead of the whiskey he ordered. There was no checking in after the entrees were tasted to see if everything was okay, or even if we needed refills. We had planned on ordering dessert but scrapped those plans well after our entrees were finished and instead paid our bill and scooted out to find dessert along the way back to our hotel.

Marna’s was absolutely amazing. We went on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too busy. Everything I put into my mouth was delicious. The mark of a favorite restaurant in my book is that not only is the food exceptional, but that I want to come back and try other things on the menu. This is one of those places. The service was perfect and the vibes were good. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes 😋

Food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Ceviche Caribeno appetizer was very good. Service was top notch. Campesino - Rum Old Fashioned was a great cocktail. Will definitely go back.

I’ve given everything a one star as we wouldn’t know if the food service or atmosphere is good or not. We’ve booked a reservation for Friday evening at 7:15 PM and drove over 40 minutes to have dinner there to find the doors locked. My reservation was confirmed via their website. I also received a text message, confirming our reservation only to find that they decided to not open their doors that evening. I would suggest that if you are not planning to be open for business, you do not allow your customers to make reservations through your website. Not a great business practice.

11/26: adding images and a response to the restaurants reply. We absolutely had the correct location. We walked across the street to the Birdhouse to ask about why the doors were closed and they looked and were also confused. I also included images of the our booking. We were at the correct place.

All the employees seemed happy. You don’t often see that! They enjoy their job and its shows in the quality of their product. Food and drinks were excellent. We left wanting to go back!

Food is fantastic. Service is hit it miss. Went to brunch one time and service was on point. Went to dinner another time and we were waiting a long time to order and to get our check. We found out that our server was on the other end of the patio doing shots with her friends and planning her vacation to Greece. At any rate, food is worth the visit. Cocktail menu is also very unique. They have a take on an old fashioned that's made with dark rum. I figured I'd try it and it was fantastic.

I arrived here with a friend at 7:37pm on 10/4/24 was sat in 3 mins and then never saw a waiter/waitress left at 8:04pm so essentially my friend and I sat there for 20ish minutes by the time we were able to flag someone down I was extremely pissed and didn’t wanna eat anything anymore so we just got up and left I only wanted to try this place because of tiktok what a waste of time and gas money AVOID!

We were scolded for occupying a patio table for 6. Although there was plenty of room. Rude “management” and we were left to feel unwelcome. The food is sub par. Do not bother with the Gallo Tinto, skip the guacamole and the ensalada is a let down.
Drinks are decent. Empanadas are good. Mussels were delish.

It was one of the worst dining experience I ever had in a while. The food was good but the service was chaotic and irresponsible. The indoor area clearly was not taken care of by the staff. Even after we expressed our frustrations to the managers, they were unapologetic about the situation. Overall, we were excited at the beginning, but walked out with total frustration.
