If you're a matcha lover this location is 1 of 3 places nationwide w/ freshly-milled matcha.
I got one iced Miyamakaori with notes of dandelion, watermelon, and seaweed. I liked it so much I tried it hot but in the end I preferred it iced. We also got a traditional Gyokuro green tea. They don’t have matcha lattes but they have a decent menu and a nice vibe with all the decor and seating.
Very calming and relaxing place to have tea. Very large variety of different tea and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Should be noted they are a cashless store.
The matcha was wonderful and the girl working was so so sweet and very helpful and knowledgeable!! Will definitely be back :)
This was our first experience at a tea house and it was wonderful. The workers were very welcoming and took the time to explain the different blends. The entire place was decorated so thoughtfully as well. It was such a peaceful experience for us and I can’t wait to visit again soon!
Wow this place was amazing! The atmosphere and vibes were so calming and comforting, and I ended up staying there for a long time. I got a flight of three different hot teas that I had picked in advance from looking at the website, and was very happy with all the complex flavor profiles. My only note is that there was only one person working at the time, so wait times were extended. I’m nonetheless looking forward to visiting again!
A real emperor’s new clothes situation here. Bad tea prepared poorly by people who are not experts, consumed by people new to tea who don’t know the difference. Ambiance was nice
I stopped in here yesterday since I needed something warm on this cold weekend. I've also never had premium matcha so I was a bit intrigued. They set up the matcha selection by the intensity of the flavor profiles. I was seeing descriptive words for matcha that would've never came to mind but it added to the appeal!
I ordered a double of the Takamine Okumidori matcha which is described as being creamy, nori and cashew. While I waited, I walked around the shop as there was a variety of cool things to check out. After browsing, I took a seat on their floor seating for the experience. I also came around open so it was super chill for a bit until more people starting arriving.
I loved the pottery in which the matcha is served in. I definitely got both the creaminess and the nuttiness in the matcha too. I'm still trying to rack by brain around matcha and flavor profiles because I feel like its either bitter or just masked with sugar. So, this was actually a pleasant experience to get it in its purest form. I'd happily stop by here again in the future and bring a friend or two too.
Never have I ever had such a good time sitting on the floor. Gyokuro is the best.
I love Matcha tea and I decided to try this place out after reading that it was one of three tea places that mill their own tea.
It is a little on the expensive side however, I definitely got my fill of Matcha. They have several selections and varieties to choose from and the barista was good at letting you know which ones are for “beginners”. The one I chose was a bit “grassy” but I knew it was gonna be on the Earthier side of the teas.
Cute shop if you’re looking for a gift as they have a great selection of items
Delicious tea!

Always enjoy the peaceful vibes here & their selection of tea! I've enjoyed many conversations here with my friends. One small suggestion is to have the no laptop policy REALLY VISIBLE to people entering - I paid for a $15 gongfu hoping to sit down and work for a while not knowing the no laptop policy, and was sad to have to leave my tea barely touched because I was (unknowingly) there to get some writing done :( so maybe having a sign screaming no laptop or having the server let people know when they're ordering would be really helpful!
Edit: I see now that they do have a sign at the entrance, there was construction going on today near the entry so I was rushing in :(
Still a peaceful oasis with freshly milled matcha or unique and rare teas, including tea flights on weekends! Highly recommend the flights. Some little snacks they bake in house, and they are tasty.
Patrons are encouraged to not bring in laptops, so it's purely a relaxing space. Plenty of seating available.
One of 3 matcha mills in the USA. Awesome little spot. The decor, smell, sounds, staff, tea and snacks were unmatched. Easily the best tea spot in Minnesota.
Relatively serene place to sit and have a cup of fancy tea.
Northeast Tea House has quickly become one of my favorite 3rd party places!
Immediately you enter into a serene, welcoming, and cozy little walkway filled with plants, beautiful Chinese tea sets and accessories.
The staff is all extremely knowledgeable and willing to assist with the style of traditional Chinese tea etiquette. There are also amazing individual drink options of teas and matchas, as well as small snacks like mochi and some baked goods.
Wonderful place to sit and chat for as long as you need, enjoy the art, the fish and the chill atmosphere.
