Owamni by The Sioux Chef offers a unique dining experience with a focus on using native ingredients, presenting pre-colonization food in a fine dining format. The bison tacos, duck, and sweet potatoes are particularly delicious. The bison ribeye is to die for. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the river and a lovely patio, creating a lovely atmosphere for a celebration or date night. The service is excellent, with well-informed staff. Some dishes like the non-alcoholic beverage and squash custard fell short of expectations. The true wild rice and corn chowder are highly recommended. Owamni provides a flavorful and innovative menu in a stunning setting, making it a great choice for a special dinner. This is an experience not to miss, the food was excellent, unpretentious, flavorful, and filling. The stars aligned last night when my wife and I went as part of my 60th birthday celebration. I love what everything The Sioux Chef has created here and fully support the absence of colonial ingredients because of how it aligns with my core beliefs like respect for all, simplicity and sustainability. The restaurant had such an amazing vibe. The food was made with love and care. Understanding the history behind the food made the meal even better. All the food ordered were delicious and flavorful.
