Picked up food, wait staff very nice. Food is very upsettingly bad. I don’t know what they were on but the beef and broccoli was goopy, bland, and the beef had an oxidation sheen on it which was unsettling. The sesame chicken is god awful, breaded chicken and soupy sauce do not mix, please spare yourself. Got egg rolls too, which were good, but not 12$ good. Everything could be found for cheaper and honestly more flavorful and similar quality from fast food Asian restaurants. Please seek better food, it is out there. Sorry to the people there because they were nice, but it really is just bad food.

I love this restaurant for its delicious food and the decorations they put at the entrance and the awards they receive every year, which has to speak volumes for their delicious food. I love it.

I grabbed take out and everything was great. I ordered the chocolate wontons, Szechuan wontons, wonton noodle soup, chicken with black bean sauce and lo mein, and shrimp fried rice. The portions are huge and everything was fresh and flavorful.

Though the weather outside was bitter cold, inside Rainbow Chinese is a garden of delight. Chef/Owner Tammy Wong’s Rainbow Chinese is a gift to Minneapolis, a must-experience destination. My noodle soup sparkled with the brightest herbs and vegetables, I’m convinced there’s no fatter egg roll on the planet and the shrimp w/walnuts and cream is absolutely dreamy.I met a friend there this evening to both celebrate her birthday and mourn the recent passing of her beloved Grandmother. We picked Rainbow because of the food but also the warmth of service and embracing atmosphere. I love Rainbow.

I've been a regular customer of theirs for decades. I compare all Chinese restaurant food to theirs. Can't get enough of it.I love the noodle soups, gai-lan with oyster sauce. There's a cold tofu with cilantro & sauces appetizer I've never seen anywhere else that is wonderful. They have a gingerale - I think it's club soda & cola with fresh ginger & maybe ginger something with bitters. Yum. They also have a full bar.Whatever the dish, their take on it is above & beyond.Vegetarian options: Often, you'll find 1 or 2 vegetarian dishes per restaurant. Even most salads come with meat these days. There's a vegetable section of the menu & other meatless items scattered around the menu.

One of my favorite Asian restaurants in Minneapolis. Great service, great food, and a fish tank for entertainment.

First time trying Rainbow Chinese. The interior of the restaurant was nice and I sat at the bar. The service was spotty. Also, the General Tso's Chicken was odd tasting with a 5 spice flavor that was not appetizing. My other dish was bland.

I had such a lovely evening at Rainbow! The food was so good that I packed things up so that I would have room for dessert. Tammy is an incredible hostess and has created a beautiful restaurant and delicious menu. I look forward to the next time I'm in Minneapolis, so that I can eat here again! The beef chow fun was a standout, and the dessert wontons were PERFECT. You could definitely have a filling meal for 20-30 dollars, but it's worth it to spend a little more and get a couple dishes.
