• Tonkatsu Ramen - 1/5 : It has a sweet aftertaste. I wasn’t able to finish it due to sweetness. The bamboo shoots should be cut smaller
• Chicken Karaage - 3/5 : The chicken tastes good and crispy but the cuts are too big. It comes with a sweet dipping sauce, not with a japanese mayo
• Tantanme - 4/5

Impressive, flavorful ramen for the price at $17 each, we tried the Tonkotsu filled with noodles and flavorful pork plus the Tan Tan Men, also excellent and with a spicier flavor. Kawae is a great place especially during the cold winter months. We also tried the chicken Karrage which offers enough for several people to sample.

It was a pleasure to dine here! As a lover of ramen, theirs was delicious. I recommend you try it! Fried chicken with soy sauce was also great! I'll be back for sure!
Dietary restrictions: They have two gluten-free options: chicken skewers and dumplings.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp to get everywhere.

Place is dope. Broth is out there. Pork falls apart. Mushrooms are awesome. Counter people/ food runners are great. It's totally worth coming in. Downtown and adjacent neighborhoods don't have much to offer for Ramen so this place is rad. And don't get me wrong the atmosphere is fine, but it's a good hall. Bartender was cool too.

It was delicious, it was my first time trying a soup with pork and I had to get used to the taste but then I enjoyed it

Service was slow (25 mins). Oily, flavourless, salty soup. The chicken was stringy. Edamame was horrible and one was rotten. Terrible food. We came because of the ratings and those were way off.

I’m really picky in ramen. This one is by far my fav in the USA.

I'm usually strict on my love for ramen since there are so many good ones in Minnesota but damn I am impressed and entranced at how good the ramen was here and their gyoza. The broth warmed my soul. This place is a must go to. Worth the price and experience. I recommend the shoyu wontonsoba. A must try! 💚🤤

Their Tsukemen ramen is quite good! The pork wasn't chashu, but it was tender and yummy. Sauce had a good flavor. Overall pleased.

We absolutely love it here! My favorite Ramen ever! The owner is super sweet and nice and even remembers our order now! I wasn’t a ramen fan until I tried their Ramen. My absolute favorite is the one with the big chicken leg in it! Plus their gyoza 🥟 is the best I’ve ever had!!

Best karaage in MSP, and better than any I've ever had in LA, too. Hands down our favorite!
REALLY YUMMY. It's in the Galley so it's very noisy and can be packed with people. I would absolutely reccomend Ramen Kawae. I have a shellfish allergy and the chef talked with me about options and it turned out delicious.

Got tonkotsu and tsukemen. Flavors not balanced, sodium levels are off the charts.
