I love this matcha! The okumidori was the perfect one for me! the right amount of nutty flavor!
A beautiful velvety matcha! I appreciate that it is milled to order and it is good to support a local business.
Expensive
Amazing matcha
So glad to have found River & Stone matcha. Having lived in Japan and knowing what fresh high quality matcha can be like I was so tired with all the matcha I could find stateside. Even the most expensive matcha from numerous online tea companies I tried just didn’t have that same clarity as the matcha I would drink in Japan. It was dull. And now I know why. It’s all about fresh milling. The fresher it’s milled the better it is. The crisp fresh flavors of the matcha I tried from River and Stone take me back to being in Kyoto drinking matcha at a temple and truly experiencing the full synergy of the tea. With top tier (ceremonial) matcha, quality and freshness go hand and hand, you can’t have one without the other and River and Stone has got them both. Thank you River and Stone, now I can enjoy matcha again just like I remembered when I was in living in Japan. The best!!
Arigato gozaimasu.
I really enjoy this matcha more than I ever expected. I feel like I stumbled upon a hidden gem. I think the packaging is the only thing holding this back from being a true dominant matcha. I will continue to buy!
Found the tea shop during one of my visits to Minneapolis in January 2024. Some of the best matcha I’ve ever had. I recommend them to every matcha lover I know.
So many matcha options! Simon helped me find which was right for me. They’re very knowledgeable. I also appreciate that they stone ground the tea themselves! Super satisfied.
Highly recommend! I look forward to having a matcha every morning, and River and Stone’s matcha makes for a great gift.
They really do take their matcha seriously! The prices are steep, but the flavor and freshness of their matcha are second to none in the USA. Their shipping is fast and free. This is some of the best matcha you can get in North America without importing it from Japan (and paying $25-30 for shipping in the process).

River and Stone offers the freshest matcha on the market. If you’re looking for exceptional, high quality matcha, look no further. The matcha sets and flights also make amazing gifts!
Love the matcha here~ super fresh! Rare to find this quality. Creamy and hot, delish! Reminds me of days living Japan.
This absolutely beautiful matcha, mostly or exclusively from highly sustainable farming is also supplied online with very speedy and personal service. I have enjoyed five different matchas from Simon so far, as I really like the experience of each singular cultivar. To me, each is worthy of its own appreciation, but I strongly recommend the more unknown cultivars such as asahi matcha and samidori matcha, in addition to the more well known classic okumidori.
lovely tea very nice company to deal with
Great quality and was actually a batch made three days before it arrived for my husband’s birthday. The bowl was so beautiful and I think is handmade!
