I'd give a solid 3.5-4 stars, this place used to be amazing but like with every restaurant, covid has taken a toll on it's menu selection and prices. Food is still very good though, the nachos are a must have and are a meal on their own unless you are sharing with the table! Mixed drinks have always been great so props to the bartenders! Prices seem a bit high but it is downtown MPLS and everything is high priced right now. For two of us, 2 burgers, 2 drinks and nachos it was about $120. For what the food is that seems high to be but it was a treat to be out without our kiddos. I noticed other reviews complain about portion size, it may seem small but in reality it is more than enough food on your plate to fill you up, no one needs to eat that many French fries anyways. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere with clean bathrooms and great people watching if you get a booth by the window! Hostess and our waiter were great and very knowledgeable. Overall it's definitely worth stopping in.
Wow, so disappointing. Our food took 45 minutes to come out, no kidding, and when it did, it was really a sad state of affairs. My sister had a tiny piece of salmon that was a $6 add to the shallow bowl of salad that was already $16. I got the same salad with the santa fe chicken added, should have been called "bland chicken" instead. Unreal for $20+ for salads. The other people in the group got a burger, and a flatbread. The burger was a frozen patty (nasty) and she got maybe 10 fries with it! The flatbread was terrible, a bunch of raw hot peppers just thrown on top, so strange and unappealing! We won't be going back, ever...
Definitely will be back. The Fish Tacos were good. My Chicken wasn't hot, it was more like lukewarm...no seasoning, I added salt and pepper, sarachi sauce (not sure if i spelled it right) and the queso cheese sauce that came with those Amazing Pretzels. So freaking good!!! I would like to make that suggestion to Rock Bottom for the chicken sandwich. It'll be so good (for those that like a lil spice).
Our group of 10 stopped for a pre-show dinner and we could tell our waiter was a little flustered by our size and our "needs", from several asks for water, basics like silverware, our groups meal coming out in waves over the course of 20 minutes, to being quickly cut off to pay our check and not being offered any deserts or additional drinks but I complement the waiter for asking how we wanted our tab split. We ultimately went to the bar for a final shot before we left. Our meal was good - besides the food coming in waves and not wanting to jump the gun digging in when our friends didn't have their meal, and our friends were happy for the price - the deviled eggs were PHENOMENAL, the ceasar salad was more than sufficiently coated in sauce (and im a saucy kinda guy), and side of brussel sprouts were excellent. We tried to order a few of their sauces but Dr Assburn "has been gone for a while" and Twisted only seemed like ranch. For the value the food was good but the service given how the restaurant was only about 25% was puzzling.
We had a pretty rough experience. Food flavor was good. Peach smash drink is delicious as were the chicken tenders (and most food flavor). Table was ready when we arrived. Other than that it was downhill. None of the meal specializations were completed (e.g. someone needing spicy sauce on the side or coleslaw not on their sandwich), fries were cold for many of us, had to ask for water, food took quite a while to arrive and came out in shifts (appetizers coming out after food), a drink and meal we ordered were unavailable (even with limited event menu), one salad didn't come with chicken but we were charged for it (they removed when we asked), waiter had to hunt down napkins for us, we were told parties of our size had to be on one check per policy (not because of mandatory gratuity but because it would be too difficult to split on 5 checks) but that they could run separate cards (only to find that meant an even split on cards) so we spent 20 minutes calculating and recalculating, didnt get a last happy hour call (I didn't even know it was happy hour), and the staff attitudes (including management) left to be desired - I don't plan to return. I give grace for a lot of things but not for attitude from everyone down to the manager. Our group is generally pretty easy going and everyone was irritated. Parking is paid in nearby ramp.
Great beer. Waited over 30 minutes to get one though... In an empty bar. An hour and a half later I was served cold fries and lettuce tacos with fish topping. Instead of the other way around.
Our food was great and the server was excellent! The problem is the place had nets, and that's mean they're not cleaning the bar properly because nets are attracted to sugar.
Visited Rock Bottom for dinner before a show at First Ave last weekend. Made reservations and got in right on time! Drinks were great, and our waiter was prompt! My friend ordered the fish and chips which looked wonderful and she said it tasted great! I had the Margherita flat bread which was terribly disappointing…. Other wise it was a pleasant visit.
The food was great and even though we were a party of 12 the waitress was on top of her game great job, drinks took awhile to get to us but everything else was awesome
Let had not been to a Rock Bottom in years. My wife and I decided to give it a go for lunch. Very friendly and prompt bartenders. We ordered their Nachos that, as you see, is humongous and also was well made.

Just an overall fun, alive, jumpin place on a Saturday night in downtown Minneapolis Minnesota!Kudos for holding the “Rock From The Heart” aortic heart health charity /fundraiser on Saturday February 26th between 5:30-7:30.A private back room served excellently for the charity. The food was beyond excellent, piping hot, appeared fresh and appealing.Service staff were prompt and efficient. A rousing front room serves regular clientele with a gusto!A must-place to stop in for a bit, you may end up staying awhile. Thanks Rock Bottom!
Starting with the good, the service was amazing. Very prompt. Milkshake was good, albeit a little bland. However, we were seated near the door and it was cold. In addition, the food was good, but not phenomenal, they were stingy on the condiments, and the portions in general were small especially given the prices.
Had good service and the beers were tasty. The fish tacos were especially good with the sauce they put on them. Slightly annoying that two tv's could not be switched to watch the Super Bowl. One was showing a story on Prince Charles and Diana. During the Super Bowl, really??
I wish I could rate higher. Great location, good COVID precautions, good staff. But the food was terribly over cooked. We would have sent it back if we weren’t under a time constraint for a concert at the State Theatre later in the evening. I might come back for drinks, but I’d be very hesitant to order food.
Great place to go before a show or concert
