We had a fabulous brunch for my wife's birthday and couldn't have asked for anything more!

Zach our server had his hands full with our party of 14 and to our great delight he and several others kept us well fed and tended to with charm and grace.

Every item ordered was beyond delicious and the surprise gift of several desserts along with staff honoring the birthday girl with a little celebratory candle while starting us all off in singing Happy Birthday made us feel seen and embraced!

Decided to eat at St Genevieve for my anniversary because I heard good reviews. We had the pommes frites, mushroom risotto and royale with cheese (cheeseburger). I agree that you should ask for the sauce on the burger on the side. Atmosphere was good with candles as the centerpiece. Service was ok but felt a little long a couple of times. We were not asked for refills other than the coffee. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrive but was busy when we left. Overall it was an ok experience. The restaurant and menu look more like fine dinning but one of the staff was wearing a sports jersey and plenty of customers were in sweaters and jeans.

Absolute favorite of ours. Small menu, but all items always prepared brilliantly. Wine list perfectly curated to support the cuisine. Can’t recommend enough. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here more! ❤️

My husband and I have been to this establishment several times and had great experiences with the food and the staff BUT we have also had a couple of experiences where the food/drink and service were less than stellar. Tonight was one of those nights and I had to leave a review because it was so overtly disrespectful in my opinion. The host tonight was a male-presenting host and when we came through the door he hardly acknowledged us at all. When we asked if we could be seated at the bar, he said that a group of 12 was coming in to sit at the bar at 8pm, 45 minutes away. We asked if we could sit and have a drink at the bar (this is all we were looking for anyway) and the host said this would be ok. We sat down and had some drinks, but the vibe was waaaay off. We’ve experienced this vibe before at St Genevieve-the staff seeming anxious and on edge, and communicating very short with us. We don’t appreciate that, and surely don’t expect it when it happens. We hope that staff are well take care of/enjoy working there, because it shows when things are off. Hopefully this review can be used for good as well-we love having a nice bar so close to us!

The portions were small, leaving us hungry. The gnocchi arrived cold. The salmon was tiny. There are many better options available out there.

I had high hopes for brunch at St. Genevieve, but unfortunately, it was a letdown from start to finish. The portions were shockingly small—more like tastings than actual meals. Everything arrived lukewarm, which only added to the disappointment.
The coffee was acidic and unpleasant, and the beignets were greasy rather than light and airy. But the real low point was the mushroom crepe: a flimsy buckwheat wrap made with a single egg, barely appetizer-sized, and containing just two tiny mushrooms. For $23, it felt like a joke.
We left hungry and ended up stopping at another café just to fill up. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. Brunch should be satisfying and comforting—this was neither.
The only silver lining was the good service. Other than that, I would avoid this dining establishment.

We went there based on reviews. Our entrees came out cold. I sent my fish back. The service wasn't good. My husband's dinner of duck was over cooked. But the physical space is quite nice. Won't return.

Really enjoyed our brunch. Fresh, warm beignets and tasty eggs benedict. Wonderful service.

The food has never disappointed us and their service is consistent. We enjoy their oysters very much on this side of town, and their brunch is great.

We had the worst brunch we have ever had. So disappointing. I was hoping for steak tartar, but only had a plain menu with enough pseudo French twists to justify the price. My Eggs en Cocotte were really medium boiled eggs covered in a melted stick of butter. My husband's 'crepe' felt more like a day old tortilla with semi melted cheese and machine chucked mushrooms.

It was just fine, and the price tag would indicate that we paid for more than just fine. Went to brunch with 4 other people, we were all into our dishes but damn they were skimpy and not really filling for $25/plate. Inventive and delicious food, but even in this economy I can't justify that price tag. (For example, the French toast comes with one singular slice of French toast for $22. Whaat???) I am by no means a size queen for my brunch dishes, and these were laughably small. The service was also disappointing - we felt pretty forgotten about in the back corner of the restaurant, finding ourselves looking for our server several times while we were there. Amping up the presence of service and the volume of food (or adjusting the cost) would have me singing a different tune.

St Genevieve is a quaint restaurant just off 50th and Bryant. We went for brunch and enjoyed familiar brunch fare but with an exquisite French touch. For example, French toast but topped with sweet jam, or an omelette with puréed carrots. We will definitely be back again!
