First time I have ever had the pleasure to takeout food from Scott Jamama. We ordered for lunch. I am super impressed. The food was great. The service was great. I seriously contemplated ordering again for dinner tonight. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Bought a 1/2 rack of ribs and 1/2 chicken with sides. The ribs were OK but on the small side. Looked to be about 4 inches. The chicken was very good and the star of my order. Neither ribs or chicken came with much sauce. Could have used twice the amount given. The twice baked potato’s were forgettable. Not good at all. Same with the cole slaw. KFC or Popeyes make a slaw that is 10 times better than what Scott serves. The dinner bun was OK for what appeared to be a Hawaiian bun straight out of a grocery store box of 12. Doubt I will go back.

Scott Ja-Mamas is, without reservation, THE best BBQ I have ever tasted! It is a literal hole in the wall and, for the most part, take away. There are very few tables and those are typically occupied by local police stopping in for lunch. The owner and staff are so friendly. We have been going there for years. When we lived out of town, we always made time to stop by for some of Scott's fabulous ribs with his special sauce. The flavor is stupendous. The meat is smoked and tender, the beans are delicious and obviously a family recipe. I can't say enough about this place. We moved back to Minnesota a few years ago and continue to enjoy Scott Ja-Mamas. You should, too!

My grandson loved the ribs (and the decor :) ! My daughter and I enjoyed the chicken. The sides are small but delicious. The staff was very pleasant and got our order ready quickly. Thanks! we’ll be back !!!

I have been going to Scott's for 30 years. Scott sold the restaurant to a new owner a year or two ago. My first post covid visit last week was a great disappointment. For lunch, I got the pulled pork sandwich. Bland. Seemed it was roasted in an oven. No smoke or bark bits. Sauce was OK, but thin. Not atcall as was the preparation on Scott's watch. I got a rack of ribs to take home. Same thing, the rack seemed to have no smoke to speak of. Worse yet, possibly the leanest ribs I've ever seen. No flavor, no bark, no meat. I'd have scored the ribs 1 star by themselves.

Scott's has been my secret BBQ place for quite some time but it does not deserve to be a secret. 1 of the coolest interiors around with so much memorabilia. Spectacular and quick service, delicious ribs and oh the twice baked potatoes! Highly recommend if your in the area!

Got a great deal using Upside, so I ventured into the great unknown, vast metropolis of Minneapolis, using my GPS, and found this little hole-in-the wall rib joint. Personality plus! I think there was parking behind the building, but I opted to walk from a side street. I really liked the mild bbq ribs, twice baked potato 1/2, and the somewhat petite cuplet of coleslaw. Only one small table, and not really an eat in sort of place, so my only co.plaint, which only about my circumstances, not their food, was that I didn't get to eat it hot. I didn't know where to stop and eat, so ended going all the home. I'll plan to find a park nearby, before I get the food, so I can have peak enjoyment! Quirky MN memorabilia covered the walls, so plenty to peruse while waiting a few minutes for your food! Nice people. Going to go again!

I've bent stopping here for years. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood. This place offers some of the very best BBQ in the cities, a small joint with a basic menu and big flavor.

I've been wanting to stop here for years, but the timing never worked out until today. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which was messy yet very delicious.
