I have been travelling to the Twin Cities (from Canada) for the past two years to visit my partner, and we've dined at many restaurants here, but Snack Bar is easilymy all-time favorite, hands down.I had hanger steak with a silky pasta, and my partner had the steak with a gorgonzola pasta...both meals were absolutely incredible. The drinks and desserts were delicious as well. The waitress that served us was very kind, attentive and helpful, and the atmosphere was great too!I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and I can't wait to visit again.Thank you Snack Bar! A++!!!

Fine dining at an affordable price.Excellent menu, professional and courteous staff.Staff made me feel welcomed and at home, from the hostess to the servers, and even a guy visible back in the kitchen gave me a nod and a smile.Menu is elegant but approachable, a little something for everyone.Parking: Plenty of parking on the street outside.

This is my third time coming here and it is great! The “gin parade” is great, so many options. I highly recommend the new blood orange housemade tonic. Food is pretty good too. The most outstanding food is the pizza! Honestly some of the best pizza in mpls. They gave me a special dietary restrictions menu which I always appreciate so I added that here as well.Dietary restrictions: Ask for the dietary restrictions menu!!

Went here for my adult daughter’s birthday. We got a bunch shareables and a slice of pizza. Ok, the pizza was good but just ok. But the shareables….outstanding. We had the fried eggplant, Schupfnudeln, Pici, and cavolo bianco. They were all great. Topped off with the banana cream pie and crème brûlée doughnut. Service was great. Cocktails were perfect.

This is my favorite pizza in Minnesota, hands down. Buttery and doughy crust, super tasty-acidic red sauce, and top notch ingredients.

Their pizza is amazing, but the atmosphere is not ideal. Too compact and the bar seating is too close to the people next to you.

We had such a great dinner here. Pickled cauliflower salad was for sure my favorite but everything we had was delicious! Service was fabulous! Our waiter had great recommendations and was lovely! Atmosphere is cozy, relaxed and just fun! Would highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: We had an early reservation at 5:15pm and there were a couple of cute families with young kids there too. Was very kid friendly!

Something about the way Snack Bar just envelops you with its deep red wallpaper, comfortable round booths, stately bar, dim lighting, and loud, bubbling voices, make it the perfect way to spend an evening. Over the last few years, I've visited a handful of times and can confidently say each occasion has been 5/5. This last time, we opted for an 8pm Friday resi, and that experience, particularly lovely, will inform this review.Arriving a few minutes before 8pm, our table wasn't ready so we were invited to wait just outside the restaurant. We were offered drink menus but declined initially. The hostess came out two separate times to check on us, and by 8:20, when the previous group was still at our table, she brought us a bottle of Brut Rose, apologizing and thanking us for our patience. When we were seated minutes later, we all cooed at our beautiful table. Nestled in the back with two chairs and an L shaped booth fit for three, we marveled at the cozy elegance of the space. Again, with the deep red wallpaper, warm, dim lighting and loud, happy diners around us - we were practically as bubbly as our rose! Per usual, our server was excellent. He walked us through the entire menu, noting his favorites, describing the most popular dishes, and even pronouncing some of the unique names for us accurately. We decided to slow play the evening, and started with three smaller plates. 1) The fried eggplant comes as little coins, covered in a light, crisp batter and drizzled with rosemary honey. The eggplant itself has a tender, almost melt in your mouth texture. 2) The pickled cauliflower salad surprised me with a mix of flavors - thin slices of rich, salty Manchego cheese, what I believe to be mustard seeds, tangy cauliflower, and what could only be high quality olive oil coating various shades of escarole leaves, we loved this fresh, zest forward dish! 3) The garlic fried octopus was the star of the starters. Meaty yet tender octopus is cut into bite sized rounds and dressed in a garlicky, citrusy olive oil blend with pops of cilantro. SO tasty. Still hungry, we decided to order one more hot dish to share, so naturally we had to get the Schupfnudeln - a must every time I come to Snack Bar. My friends certainly agreed as well after the first noodle touched their taste buds. I can't explain this pillowy pasta, almost like a gnocchi but elongated, the noodle is dense yet light with a dumpling texture. Each beautiful pillow is coated in a creamy, rich Gorgonzola sauce while mild hints of shallot and black walnut seeping through each bite. So indulgent, so unique, so delectable! We ended the night with our own slices of personalized pizza. With five girls, we were all able to create our own unique flavors. Really solid slices too - thin, papery undercarriage with a thick, doughy crust. I kept it simple with red sauce and chèvre cheese but honestly each slice looked delectable. Definitely not as unique as some of the other dishes but a great way to finish off the night. Oh, and I forgot about our other cocktails! The table ended up with two dirty martinis (which were excellent after asking for a touch more olive brine), a Bitter Duet, a Winter's Tale, and a Spicy Paloma. The Bitter Duet tasted almost like a Negroni and was delicious, with a mix of gin, mezcal, aperol and campari. The Winter's Tale was gin based, citrusy and slightly sweet from the pomegranate and rosemary honey, with a foamy egg white on top that tied it all together. The Spicy Paloma truly packed some heat which I loved, likely coming from the Fresno infused tequila. SO GOOD! I honestly can't recommend Snack Bar enough. From the elegant and cozy decor to the excellent service and the unique food and cocktails, it is such a perfect North Loop spot. Don't sleep on Bar La Grassa or 112 eatery either, also Isaac Becker establishments in the NL.

Had a date with a girlfriend and we landed on Snack bar and I am SO glad we did. I haven't been for over a year and I was quickly reminded why I love this place. They have great drinks and the service is amazing! The food is delicious- you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We spent a long time to decide what we wanted to order and also took our time catching up and our waiter did not rush us at all which was so appreciated!

I'm in love!!!! Dead serious this was an amazing culinary experience. Most of the dishes were so divine I forgot "phone eats first." Service was impeccable with no hiccups. The grilled octopus was great but the standout dish was the scallops. The only dish I would probably not get again was the crème brûlée donut. My date had a wonderful cocktail that I took a sip of. I cannot wait to go back. Parking tip. There is a garage located at 900 Washington if you do not want to Valet. Only complaint was it's noisy so not a great place to have conversation and being a first date it was hard hear them talk.

This was AHMAZINGGGG! Every dish was spectacular. I can't begin to list it all out, but a few of our favorites included the fried octopus, fried eggplants, and the Schupfnudeln!! I can't recommend this place enough.
