Came here to dine for my birthday and to check out the spot before they closed it. The place itself is amazing. The architecture and atmosphere for a restaurant are one of the best in Minneapolis. The menu and food are well together with lots of flavor. You’ll defiantly have to order several dishes if you have an appetite. The service was not the best. The waitress was doing the bare minimum of her job. Quick hello, got drinks, took our order, got the bill and that’s it. I’d expect that at a diner but not a restaurant. But even with the service, it was a great experience and can’t wait to come again for the new restaurant!

So excited that I had the opportunity to eat here before it transitions to Kim’s. Everything we ate was 10/10 - mushroom Birria tacos, braised lamb tacos and galbi jjim - drinks were 9/10 Old fashioned and a Margarita Atmosphere is a vibe, but decor is nothing new- looks similar to Young Joni. Love the open kitchen vibe. Great service!
Sooki and Mimi is a fun experience! The food and cocktails are phenomenal and our server, Chris was excellent! Sad it won't be around much longer, but am looking forward to it becoming Kim's!

Had dinner here solo while traveling for work. Food was great, and my cocktail was delicious. I wished I had come with more people so I could try more things. The vibe is comfortably cool. It was a bit noisy, even on a Monday - I didn't mind, but some people are sensitive to that.

What an amazing meal! The salad was superb and the tacos… oh so amazing. I had the mushroom birria. It’s kind of hard to explain that irresistible explosion of flavor so well balanced with the textures of the different elements. For dessert, the lovely lemongrass panacota. We appreciated the service and welcoming ambiance as well

Yesterday, my friends and I pretty much ended up trying the entire menu, and we have all concluded that this establishment had amazing food, especially the tacos, which we ended up ordering twice for each kind. Personally I have long known Sooki & Mimi as a restaurant that served a combination of Korean and Mexican fusion food, so I came in with lots of excitement. It was a lovely experience with amazing food, amazing service, and great atmosphere! Because we had 6 people, we ended up getting a stone table almost right next to the kitchen, and being able to watch the cooking process at times was joyful as well.Every taco was a hit, especially the mushroom birria tacos, the braised lamb tacos, and the baja fish tacos. Each type had a very unique flavor that had a great balance of sauce, protein, and toppings. Not one greatly dominated the other ones. For the dinomite dorados tacos, we had a brontosaurus holder and a tricerotops holder, and by that time I finally understood why the dish contained the name "dinomite" and that was really cute! Those chorizo tacos were excellent as well! Just comparatively, the other three really shined for me. I would also like to point out that not one type of tacos tasted like another type, which was amazing because that meant the tacos didn't just heavily rely on their respective sauces! The entrées were not as impressive as the tacos, but they were great as well! I thought the portions were a bit small for the prices, but the taste made it worth it, at least. The pork chop itself was cooked to medium to medium well, so some of that good raw meat taste was retained, and together with some pineapple pico and al pastor glaze, it was a great combination. The galbi jjim had some tender braised beef! Together with gochugaru crema, it allowed me to make some excellent tacos using their tortillas with sole beef, crema, and kimchi, a combination we never asked for but found out that we needed! The tamal was good as well, but the highlight to me was actually what was around the tamale because if you combine those ingredients with a bite of the tamale, it's a completely new flavor profile. Both desserts were excellent! The lemongrass panna cotta was unlike any panna cotta I had ever had. The flavor was unique in a way that I thoroughly enjoyed despite not familiar. The sweet potato mochi donuts worked very well with dulce de leche and chocolate mousse! Nothing else I can say about it! I would recommend both, and because they had such different kinds of flavors, I think it would really be up to personal preference.I am happy to have finally visited before they close and get reincarnated as a new entity, and I am grateful for such!

Beautiful aesthetic but the server spoke like a car salesman trying to push us to buy more drinks and order more food which was very annoying. The food itself was extremely overpriced, small portioned and tasted very basic. Nothing stood out other than the interior. Definitely do not recommend!

Sooki & Mimi is so good that it makes me upset knowing it will ruin other food for me lolI doubt you can go wrong here. Our favorites were the shrimp, the braised lamb tacos, and the galbi-jjim. One of the best meals I have ever had.PS, check out the speakeasy

This place is really special. I've been twice and our bartender (they have walk in bar seating available at times) and our server the second time were both so knowledgeable and helpful. We asked them and then ordered all their recommendations. The wait staff all know everything so well and do a wonderful job explaining each dish. They made a really good fermented pineapple drink (sort of like kombucha) and it's so good! By itself or in a cocktail.Every item I've ordered has been fantastic so just ask your server what's best and I think you won't be disappointed.

Wow!!! I came into my dining experience with high expectations, and my expectations were exceeded in every way. Sooki & Mimi is hands down my new favorite Minneapolis restaurant. My fiancé Sean and I dined here this evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day and our engagement. From the very start, the service was impeccable, and the vibes were immaculate. Chelsea and Sarah made our experience so special. We are so grateful to them for making us feel special. We had a gift certificate to use, so we ordered a whole spread of dishes and drinks. We tried the aquachile, gai lan, mushroom birria tacos, shore lunch, and the spiced chocolate torte. To drink, we had an assortment of mocktails - sparkling green tea, beet cola, and 3leche.Every dish was outstanding. We were floored by the mushroom tacos and chocolate torte. The chocolate torte’s blood orange filing literally made me gasp with excitement, and the mushroom tacos made me speechless. The gai lan had an amazing tofu cashew sauce, and the shore lunch features expertly cooked fried fish and delicious heirloom beans. My favorite mocktail was the beet cola, and Sean’s favorite was tue 3leche.Sean and I love curated and intentional dining experiences, and this experience was top tier. We’re already planning a return visit.

Atmosphere is 10/10! So cute. The food is a little pricy the amount you get. The tacos come in 2 street size small tacos. I’mHappy we got the Korean beef too. Dessert was amazing!! They give you a dessert for your birthday which is so
