Spoon and Stable is one of those restaurants that reminds you why Minneapolis has such a strong food scene.
The space itself is beautiful. It’s set inside a historic warehouse in the North Loop with high ceilings, big windows, and an open kitchen that lets you watch the craft happening in real time. The room feels lively but still warm and comfortable.
What really stands out is the cooking. Every dish feels thoughtful and balanced, with flavors that are both refined and deeply satisfying. There’s a sense that the kitchen cares about every detail on the plate. It’s creative without being pretentious.
The service matches the food. Attentive, knowledgeable, and paced just right so the meal unfolds naturally.
Yes, it’s a special-occasion kind of place price-wise, but the experience delivers. Spoon and Stable manages to feel both elevated and welcoming at the same time, which is not easy to pull off.
One of the most memorable dining experiences in Minneapolis. Absolutely worth a visit.

Recommended dishes: Bison Tartare, Dry-Aged Duck Breast
This place really impressed me. The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels a little special, perfect for a date night or just catching up with friends. The service was great too — attentive without hovering. I got the tom yum snapper and the bison tartare, and my date ordered the roasted carrots and pasta nero. Every dish that came out looked amazing and tasted even better. The snapper was the standout for me. Seriously one of the best I’ve had — super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The tartare was fresh and really well balanced, and the pasta nero was rich in the best way. Even the carrots were next level. You can tell the kitchen puts a lot of thought into both the ingredients and the presentation. Everything felt intentional. It’s the kind of place where you can see the pride in the food.

Went for Sunday brunch as a birthday treat for my mom. The service was absolutely fantastic! Eddie, our server, went above and beyond to make the experience special. His recommendations were spot on, he delivered the inside scoop on all the nuances of the menu, the food was great, and he went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a smile. Mom said this was the best birthday she’s ever had. As a side note: we’re not celiac, but we know quite a few people who are and the gluten free options were also a hit!

Five star food. Awesome fish … every menu. Cooked perfectly. Four stars for the somewhat conventional wine list— albeit with some gems.

This is one of if not our favorite restaurant in the twin cities. Excellent food always with a non pretentious atmosphere. Always get oysters. Highly recommend getting a few pastas for the table to share. While the menu rotates we’ve loved all of the fish and steak we’ve ever gotten. Highly, highly recommend the duck. Oh and I forgot to mention the butter that comes with the bread is amazing.

The atmosphere, food and service are all great. I got the tom yum snapper and the bison tartare, and my date got the roasted carrots and pasta Nero. Everything was incredible. The snapper is probably the best I’ve had. You can tell the kitchen cares a lot about both sourcing ingredients and plating them well. For dessert, we got the mango pavlova because our waiter said it’s a dish the kitchen likes to show off with, and he was not kidding. It’s very much worth the money and the hype.
I can also vouch for their private dining for corporate events—ie holiday parties—they have a good set-up in the back, great cocktails, and the servers are very attentive.

Came here from our of town and had delicious food and drinks at the bar. Our server Eli was attentive and helpful with drink choices and local recommendations. The mussels were delicious, only to be rivaled by the Malfalde pasta which was flawless. Absolutely recommend.
