Was able to sneak in Sunday without a wait. There is usually a line, lots of energy in the room and delicious bakery items. Always fresh bread, soups, and hot drinks. However, I always stop in for the biscuit sandwich. The size, flavor and variety of toppings is perfect for brunch. The chai is just sweet and spicy enough. at times overly spicy. I still enough sipping. The room is usually noisy, the cars zoom by on Nicollet Ave and the owner usually working and serving right along...
Can’t believe I haven’t ever reviewed this place. Been here many times. Stopped going for a bit around Covid because the food quality dipped a lot. I like their biscuits and gravy but the biscuits were coming out burned a couple different times we went. Finally decided to give it another try and the quality seems to have improved again. Will be adding it back into the rotation. Their bakery and bread is always worth a stop also.
I have only had the pastries so far from Sun Street Breads but every single one of them has been perfect. This morning I tried the rhubarb turnover and I nearly cried because it was so delicious. Flaky, buttery, sweet and tangy.
I highly recommend trying one of everything. Next weekend I will have more time to try a breakfast sandwich, which has been on my list for a while. Their cheddar bacon biscuits are amazing!
