great food! great service!
Hi, I recently tried to dine at Tacos El Primo this weekend. It was recommended to us by um, a "client." It was really crazy, a bunch of people from the neighborhood seemed to be having a gathering when we got there. I was sick and had my mask on but they wouldn't let us in. One guy just snatched my hat off and threw it onto the sidewalk/curb area. All of his friends started blowing whistles, telling us, forgive my language, something like "eff off!" My crew and I are not from Minneapolis and just wanted some carne asada and al pastor. We ended up having to crack open some cans of chicken noodle soup. This town is full of mean people and I think I will be asking our boss for a transfer to somewhere that has people that appreciate the money and boost we are bringing to the economy and aren't so fixated on being anti-maskers and COVID deniers! Thank you!
I've tried this place three different times because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were most flavorless vegetarian tacos i've ever had. The guac was mostly onions but they somehow even figured out a way to make that bland. If you want mostly onions that were sauteed in water with no seasoning, then this is the place. Not worth your time if you are a vegetarian.

Tacos de asada are very well-done. Outstanding elote as well. Burritos plentiful and filling. Enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend.

Continues to be a favorite spot for mexican in south minneapolis since I started buying from their food truck on lake street, and I'd say the quality has only gotten better over the years. They have a huge menu! Tacos al vapor on weekends are just killer.

Party of 8 after church on Sunday. Quick, friendly, good!
We got take out menudo which is a family tradition on Sunday mornings. It was great. The pozole and chilaquiles were also good. They were very busy trying to take care of everybody but they're popular.

What a neighborhood gem! The food is reasonably priced, generous in portion, and delicious. The atmosphere isn’t amazing, but the staff is great and the space is child friendly — a must for a toddler family. Give it a go if you can!

The service was friendly. Gives a whole little Mexico vibe inside. Food was prepared well. Came out fast. Does need more flavor. But over all was really good.
