Im on board with suing the city & holding those responsible for allowing the destruction of our city's local businesses let crumble. ☝???

Everything was excellent, and we appreciated the heated plate for the chicken--not sure why so many restaurants put hot food on cold plates. The chef came by to check on our satisfaction with the food, which is a nice and friendly touch. The food was not inexpensive, but was a memorable and worth it.

We still miss LeTownTalk, this place's precursor; fine food at reasonable cost. TTD & Gastropub, alas, was just too expensive for us. Still, we feel awful that this was one of the businesses burnt to the ground during the recent Minneapolis riots. The classic Art Deco diner is now gone forever. Awful, awful, awful.

We went here not knowing what to expect from a "diner" on Lake Street. You see the diner part as you enter, and then there is a dining room off to the right that is quite comfortable. Many choices of wine, beer, and cocktails--not typical for a diner. Food was delicious.

Town Talk Diner & Gastropub is currently open 4-7pm for Take out only & they offer a $33 meal for 2 you may choose from: BBQ Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Corn on the Cobb & Chocolate Mousse. A Friday night Feast for a loner like me. Call it the "Social Distancing Special." I dined out back next to the upcoming "Sports" coming soon to Lake Street.

Town Talk has gone through a number of different iterations and owners over the years, but it's current form is arguably my favorite yet. The old Town Talk Diner signage remains, but the emphasis these days is really on the Gastropub. Their menu changes frequently based upon what's in season and generally has a new American bent to it (though items like their burger remain a constant on Wednesdays and Thursdays). I have had a number of enjoyable meals here and have also enjoyed a couple of their takeout meals for two during all of this Covid chaos. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and service has always been very friendly. Perhaps living in the shadow of the various concepts that have called this address home has turned some people away, but you're definitely missing out, since this Town Talk is the best it's been yet (even if they don't have the boozy milkshakes).

Wonderful! This is a cozy restaurant that offers delicious dishes. Don't be fooled by the modest storefront. The cocktails are excellent--try the sazerac. Popovers are wonderful as is the chicken and burger. Literally had the most incredible cheesecake ever here. Only request is there be a couple more options on the menu.

I ordered out some Town Talk Diner as they were offering a 3 course meal for 2 for only $30. We started with a farro salad. It was served cold and super creamy. It was absolutely delicious. For the main course we had the Wild Rice Bowl. It was packed full of perfectly cooked vegetables and a delicious sauce. I definitely scraped my plate. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake with a maple cream glaze. Again, dessert was perfect! Honestly everything was so good and it has been my absolute favorite take out. Everything was 5 stars. I can't wait to be able to visit in person.

RUN, don't walk, to this restaurant; you will not be disappointed. This is the second time that my husband and I have dined at Town Talk Diner. Our first meal was so perfect, we were hesitant to return because we didn't think it would be as good. How mistaken we were! Last night's meal was another delight. After ordering a cocktail and a glass of wine, we started with the Autumn Farm Salad - a delicious combination of spicy greens, cashews, apples, etc. with a well-balanced dressing. We munched on bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic while enjoying the rustic interior of the restaurant, as well as admiring the food coming and going. (The pillowy popover caught our eye as well as the gnocchi.) Our server, Joanne, was very attentive, yet honored our request to take the meal slow. When our entrees arrived they were as good as the memorable salad we had earlier in the evening. I had the seven vegetable forbidden rice bowl which was true heaven with a unique assortment of local, farm-to-table vegetables. My husband had the spicy lobster pasta bowl that had the perfect blend of flavor and spices. For dessert, my husband had the cheesecake with cherry sauce, which he said was wonderful. As if all this were not enough, the chef stopped at every table to ensure that all diners were happy. I chatted with him a bit about my plant based diet and he said he wished he had known a day or two in advance because he would have made me a special dessert! I can assure you we will not let as much time elapse between this past meal and our next one!
