Came here for lunch on a dreary Monday with the specter or hope (depending on your view) of a pending solar eclipse. Yet it was lively inside with business folks at lunch. Excellent prices with "happy hour" prices all day. (Maybe because it's Monday?). Would have paid more in home state of California so it was a pleasant surprise. My friend and I shared a delicious crunchy roll, some sushi selections and an appetizer of crunchy rice that was a "customers' favorite" (but maybe not at my table...!). Presentation was beautiful.

Some of the best food around. They are busy which can lead to a long wait, but the service is attentive and friendly. I've never had a bad meal!

Great place to check out during happy hour. Outstanding sushi options and appetizers during happy hour for a reasonable price.

Apparently reservations mean nothing here. We arrived for our reservation and we were told we wouldn't be seated until at least 45 minutes after our reservation time. No apologies or explanations given.

Came here for my first time tonight. The server was very nice but the food was a disaster. The sushi was very good and well priced, but I had ordered chicken phad thai and it took 40 minutes to come out and on top of that it was so weirdly tasting. Everyone had their food and was done eating while I waited for the phad thai the one thing i ordered as an entree to come and it was awful tasting. It also had a hair in it!! Very dissatisfied with this place and the quality of food received on top of the waiting time. Probably not returning. As someone who works in the food industry myself it would’ve been respectable to have a manager or someone to come and speak to our table about what happened due to the wait time for one food item to arrive, the hair, and after we expressed it was our first time in. Overall a bad experience and would be aware.

The service was so quick. The server (I didn't catch his name) was very attentive to us. Drinks never fell under half. The sushi was the best I've ever had. Tasted amazing! I dream of the spicy tuna. The rice was delicious. Not too much rice, well wrapped and not too fishy.

This place was crazy-packed on a Thursday in March - not even a seat at the bar. Long line with standing-room only. We finally snatched 2 bar seats after about 20-30 minutes. It was worth the wait! Sushi rolls were gigantic! We ordered ours with soy wraps instead of seaweed. The one with mango was like a dessert! Each took a big container home! Will be back! Only comment is I wish they would put a couple of chairs near the coat closet for elderly or handicapped with a sign for those individuals only. ??

Wakame is such a Minneapolis staple. The sushi is always good, one of the best happy hours in town, and all the servers are awesome! The only thing I have never understood in all my years coming here is the wild music choices! You wanna listen to T-pain blare at 2:00pm? Wakame has got you! The loudest hardstyle at happy hour? You know it! But other than that, wakame never disappoints!

Excellent sushi in a bustling part of town. This restaurant is very popular for good reason. I’m still thinking about the salmon sushi that melts in your mouth like butter. The table service is prompt and courteous. We experienced a long wait for our sushi, but it was worth it. Highly recommend Wakame. Can’t wait to go back.

I got the boat and it was everything I could've wanted in a sushi spot. There's a fantastic drink menu as well- plenty of options. The service was quick and friendly. The music was unexpected but pleasant, gives the ambiance of modern American vibe. Overall, great time. I will return once I get over this food coma.

Their hours are wrong online. Their happy hour at night is only for 45 mins apparently. Different stories different days, they make it ambiguous on their website so they can close depending on how busy they are. Google and yelp both say midnight but we arrived 1030 and were turned away. However last month we also went during the week and dined from 930 until after 11pm as they closed at midnight.

Food and service. Happy hour sushi is the best! Drinks and wine great options. Fresh rolls and fried vegetarian rolls are our favorite. It's hard to find a good fried roll that has perfect amount of filling and dough. My husband likes bento boxes for lunch! Main dishes are also good! Bartenders rock and front hosts!
