We were excited when we heard about this restaurant. It is very difficult to find high quality vegetarian Vietnamese dishes in MN outside of the Buddhist Temples. We 100% enjoyed every dish we tried and will be back soon! We had the bún bò (spicy beef noodle soup), gỏi (salad sampler), cá kho tiêu (braised vegan fish), and cơm tấm (house special rice platter). Our server was nice, attentive, and friendly.

"When we saw this place online, I was initially reluctant to visit because I'm not a big fan of tofu, and I've never eaten anything without meat. However, I decided to give it a try, thinking it's always a good idea to expand your palate and try new things. Upon arrival, we found the restaurant to be quaintly decorated, nothing fancy but still nice. Once we sat down, the servers greeted us warmly and were very helpful and attentive. We started with veggie egg rolls, which came out quickly. I ordered the red noodle curry with veggie chicken, and my fiancée ordered the spicy veggie beef noodle Bún bò huế. She said it was delicious and flavorful, but not very spicy. My entree was also delicious, surprised as I was that I enjoyed sweet potato, which was included in the curry. The veggie chicken was also a pleasant surprise and went well with everything else in the dish. The only downside was that my fiancée asked for a water refill, but it never arrived. The service started out great but fell short towards the end. Nonetheless, I'd like to mention that the veggie egg rolls were also very tasty. We plan to return since we see potential in this restaurant, but they need to improve their service from start to finish."

I tried Thanh Luong for the first time yesterday for take out. We ordered the Chicken Pho, Bun Bo Hue, and Com Tam. The first thing I wanted to say that this place is one of the best vegan/vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants I've ever been to and I've tried many in Vegas, California, Minnesota, and in Asia. The taste is also very true to what you would taste from any Vietnamese restaurant. The flavors from all of the dishes were authentic, flavorful, bold and had all the right ingredients and textures. The food was very good and I would bring my meat eater friends and family to try this. The dishes are more expensive than a regular Vietnamese joint but the portions were also very generous. The only advice I would give to this restaurant is to make some of their meat alternatives less greasy. At the end of the meal I do feel the heavy oil from the fried “meats”. All in all I live only 5 minutes away and wish I discovered it sooner but will be back to try the Banh Mi! I only did takeout but the gentleman who helped me was very kind and even opened the door for me as I ordered 3 big bags worth of take out! This left a good impression. They are definitely not your average Vietnamese restaurant and I wish them lots of success and will continue to support and spread the word!

Thanh Luong quickly became one of my favorite restaurants despite me being an omnivore and the restaurant just recently opening/only having had their food twice. Most vegetarian food is either a 1) an afterthought, either tofu or canned mock duck is substituted for meat with no real effort, or 2) junk food (hamburgers, fried chick'n tenders or sandwiches, fried cauliflower buffalo wings, etc.) Thanh Luong genuinely put thought and effort into developing their menu and dishes using a variety of "meat substitutes" with different textures and flavors (yay, yuba/tofu skin, taro, and mushrooms!) which definitely don't make me miss pork/beef/chicken and truly do the Vietnamese flavors/dishes/expected textures justice. Their menu has most all of the dishes that you'd find on any non-vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant menu plus some! The portions are generous and most dishes contain a variety of elements - veggies, different "meat substitutes," carbs (rice or noodles,) flavors, and textures. My favorite dishes, that I could eat once a week or more, are the "Five Salad Samplers" (made up of mushrooms, tofu, carrots, napa cabbage, lotus, bell peppers, and homemade dressing) and the "House Special Broken Rice" or "Cơm Tấm" (veggie pork, shredded pork, and baked egg meat loaf served with broken rice, cucumber and tomato slices, and pickled carrots and daikon) which is my go-to at non-vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants. The only criticisms (but really due to personal preference) I have are the veggie fish sauce and peanut sauce are a bit too sweet and the spicy isn't spicy enough (I'm not a native Minnesotan .) The second (and maybe the first) can be remedied, if you eat in - there's sriracha and chili oil on each table. Both my husband and and I can't wait to go back!

We ordered more than what the pictures had. The service is incredible, these high school kids and friends are helping out with the parents during spring break. They are very friendly and helpful. For the food wise, it was beyond my expectations given these are vegetarians, it can totally beat the regular one with the real protein in it. These dish were flavourful and portions are huge. I would highly recommend to give it a try and support small family business. The chef was a lady following her passion in cooking after many years of working in the beauty sector. Isn't this amazing that finally she gets to do what she loves?!

Amazing. The food was delicious. We want to work our way through all the vegan options but also don't want to change what we had. We ordered the Pad Thai and the eggplant and mushroom dish. Both great. We added some lime to the Pad Thai when we got home to really open the flavors. The take out containers are plastic so we will most likely eat at the restaurant unless we can bring our own reusable containers. This place is so good. SO GOOD!

We had a great meal at this new restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly. Surroundings were pleasant. Our food arrived quickly and was hot. Everything was flavorful and there was enough that we were able to take some home. Egg rolls., fried rice, pho and orange tofu were all amazing. Will definitely return here.

Very good food! I don't eat vegetarian food usually but we tried this restaurant out and the food was great! We have tried the egg rolls, spring rolls, pho equivalent, broken rice combo and vermicelli eggroll salad and all were very tasty! Portion sizes were also very large. Great service and clean restaurant. Definitely recommend!

This food was amazing! I love that it was all vegetarian as well (though the fake “meat” was very convincing!). Highly recommend the Thai fried rice and the Red noodles curry. Portion sizes were very generous—each dish would easily feed two.Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly options and, of course, vegetarianKid-friendliness: Very casual atmosphere.

This Vietnamese vegetarian eatery stands out as the finest in town. Having sampled numerous dishes, I can attest to their delectable flavors, with a special mention for their exceptional noodle soups. Despite not being a vegetarian myself, the quality of their dishes surpasses meat options, making it my preferred choice.
