We were disappointed in stopping here, door said breakfast served till 11, it was 11:30 and they gave us a breakfast menu so we questioned the waitress and she said no they don't serve lunch till 12:15, we left

Cornerstone Cafe has very tasty chicken wild rice soup. Enough to be the reason to go back. The desserts are delicious.

Stopped because I lived in Monticello and Buffalo 30 years ago while working at the nearby nuclear plant and wanted to see how things had changed. Wow, has Monticello grown! Anyway, my wife and I were hungry for breakfast, so we spotted Scotty's and stopped (Thankfully, I didn't look at the reviews here first, or we probably wouldn't have stopped). Thankfully, things have apparently changed - A LOT! There is no odor of cigarettes (my wife is very sensitive and would have walked right back out the door if there was.) The place is very clean and must have been renovated within the past few years. The tables and booths had been cleared and there was plenty of staff working. Our breakfasts were delicious and our special requests were happily accommodated. Waitresses were friendly and helpful. About the only thing I could possibly complain about is that it took awhile for our food to come. We would definitely come here again if we were in town.

Thought we would give this place a try, yes it did look dated and dingy. I should of went with my first reaction when I walked in the door and I could of saved myself a lot of time, waited over 40 minutes for a simple 2 breakfasts. I did see the sign on the wall that said we make our food from scratch but really over 40 minutes --- unacceptable. Did the waitress come over at all after delivering our crafe of coffee NO any apology or update on our order NO. Did we get our order of food after waiting more than 40 minutes NO. So we paid for our coffee and left. Will not return and definitely not recommend this place

Walked in, tables were dirty. We moved plates off of a booth so we could sit there. Waited 10 min waitress came over, took Coffee order. Droped off cogee, and came back 10 min latter for food order.Took food order without writing it down. Came back with paper because she forgot order. Food came after being there 40 min. Breakfast was very good, but you need to have a lot of time. Table still had dirty dishes on it an hour later when we left.Other tables same way.

Stopped in the morning for breakfast, we needed to have wifi. The waitress had the wrong password so we couldn't stay. We will try again soon.

UPDATE: Returned to this corner cafe. Owner has painted the inside. Looks better. Still a strong smell of smoke entering building and just a mess of a breezeway. Still very dated on the inside but owner working on improvements. Ordered the country fried steak again. Still good, but not as good as that first time. Scrambled eggs cooked to death. Asked for mashed potatoes and could hear the cook ask the server how to make them. If they weren't on the menu, they just should have told me and I'd order something else. I heard them read the directions off the box!!! A gluey mess. Skip these and go for the hash browns. I just hope they continue to make improvements and to clean everything. From vents to ketchup bottles. This is a new business and they are slowly making improvements. All their items are very reasonably priced. And it's a nice change to chain-type of places. Stopped in at this corner cafe after it switched owners. Before I was never really sure there was even a cafe there.Scotty has repainted the front and added signs. I decided to stop in. First off, it's a mom and pop cafe. Remodeling is definitely needed but the good news is the food is really good. Open for breakfast and lunch, they serve your typical breakfast plates and lunch specials. I tried the country fried steak and it was the best one I've ever had. My daughter went with a hamburger and was happy with it. Service was fast and friendly. We are definitely going back. Just know that when you go, it's not updated but I'm hoping with more business, he can turn this into a retro diner. That would be so cool.
Walked in to a strong smell of old smoke and grandma's basement.. It said seat yourself.. All open tables were dirty even though there were 3 servers working and the place was less than half full. Sat down at a dirty booth waiting and waiting for someone to come clean it and bring menus. A server walks right past us to clean a table behind us and doesn't acknowledge us at all. Waited another 5 mins before walking out. Never again. Based on the nasty look of the place we probably missed a bullet.
