The walleye was overcooked with way too thick of breading (I was told when I order it was lightly breaded). We had to send the long bone back twice because it was still frozen in the middle. Pretty disappointing.

The historical log building will take your breath away, then you will have service second to none, and the food is so delicious you'll be back! Comfortable style, like being home. We're looking forward to sitting on the back deck when the snow melts.

Service is always great! Owner yells at staff every time we’re in and always seems to be drunk though. Absolutely horrible and degrading. We will no longer be supporting these owners. INSANE to treat staff the way they do.

Amazing restaurant! The ambiance was warm and made you feel tucked away in a cabin in the woods. The service was great and our needs were always met. The food and drinks were amazing! I had the old fashioned and it was balanced well, and the bourbon tasted great! I also got the Walleye Filet, and I have to say, it was the biggest filet I have ever gotten anywhere! It tasted great on top of a bed of wild rice, and I loved the dill sauce drizzled over top. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend Sherwood North to anyone in the area!

We believe Sherwood North is the best restaurant within a 50 mile radius based on its food quality, its atmosphere, and its authentic neighborly approach to its customers. The 2 inch high pork chop is an extrarodinary entree; the popovers are delicious; and the walleye is one of the best up north. We also appreciate that the owners are present, friendly, and genuine, instead of a corporate ownership staffed by employees who may or may not be there tomorrow.

Stopped in based on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the area and was blown away at how great everything was. Sat at the bar and Ben made some of the best cocktails we've ever tasted. The food was even better than the ambiance which is already an eleven on a scale of 1 to 10. Highly recommend the pork chop!

Had the most wonderful dinner experience here. Thank you so much to Angie, Nick and Pat for all of your fun and attentiveness. The atmosphere so is warm and and cozy. The walleye, duck ragout and popovers were on point. Excellent dinner and hospitality. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to go back!

Stopped in on a whim for nightcap. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere cozy and relaxed. Didn’t have whipped cream for Irish coffee so the chef made it from scratch! Sooo delicious!

We have been going here for years and have always been pleased. This was the first year that we were disappointed. There were very limited items available on the dinner menu. There were no options for chicken unless you added it to a salad. The 8oz filet was nice but came with no sides and no choice of soup/salad. For the price of the filet it should have come with one of those options:( the 8oz. steak came on a plate 6 times it’s size which really made the loss of a side dish even more evident. The walleye wasn’t the best and special came out cold. We have always looked forward to dining here when in the Brainard lakes area but will think twice next time.

The cozy and charming ambience of this place are worth the visit alone. The restaurant is in a 100+ year old pine lodge. Our whole group was blown away once we stepped inside and couldn’t wait to sit down. However, the atmosphere would probably be the highlight of our experience.Cocktails were great, but overpriced for what you get.Service was just ok. Our server seemed distracted and barely checked on us.The food was pretty lackluster. I love a good steakhouse/supper club, rural or in the metro and this one did not stack up. The main dishes (steak and salmon) were under seasoned. The sides were pretty good but waaaaay too small for $8.Anyway, all this to say, if you’re looking for a quintessential north woods experience, stop here! But maybe only for a drink and an app..
