“We stopped in by accident on a Friday night. The food is incredible. The cook really understands herbs and spices and is making everything from scratch. Not being familiar with Ethiopian food, we randomly ordered samosas, lamb tips, beets and lentils. Each dish was a mouthful of delight. The beets were my favorite and my friend who does not like beets loved this. Not at all convenient to my house, I will gladly drive for this food and sweet little restaurant.”

“I went here one time after I was lifting. It was a nice small local place in downtown North St. Paul. The wait can be pretty long, but the cooks are working hard to make the best meals. The House Fried Rice and Chicken Lo Mein are my favorites, but I do hope to try the Beef Lo Mein on my next visit. Highly suggest coming here, and I'm definitely planning on coming back someday”

“The wife introduced me to the dream loungers....this is a life changer for me.My only gripe and the reason I didn't rate 5 stars is the dreamloungers need the reclining button moved. When I am sitting in them I have to constantly make sure my hips aren't hitting the buttons. If the movie takes an exciting moment i always end up hitting the button and it is slightly annoying.”

“We stopped at the mall to rest and eat something in the middle of a long car journey. The service wasn't great, but the food was tasty and the portions were large. Nothing to highlight, met expectations.”

“This was the first time I’ve had Hmong so as you can imagine I was skeptical until I took my first bite. The purple rice is firm and paired well with the whole fish and chicken. The seasoning of the red snapper and the dark meat chicken was seasoned with unknown, never had delectable Asian species. My mouth did a happy dance with every bite. And the Taro chips bursted with flavor.Sorry, no pics this time…”

“If you are craving Subway- go to this one!! Based on the outside appearance we were not sure if we wanted to go in. However, the inside was SO clean and nice and the two gentlemen behind the counter were friendly and wonderful. We left there saying that we want to go back!”

“We were here for dinner over the weekend and everything about this place was phenomenal we tried multiple things off of the to share or not portion of the menu and loved every bit of it. The whole grilled fish our waitress mentioned rotates depending on what is available fresh and it was cooked to Perfection and probably our favorite thing all weekend. The cocktail menu is unique and everything that we had the opportunity to try was delicious I highly recommend doing the cocktail flight to anybody who doesn't have a favorite spirit. Staff was incredibly friendly and knew what they were talking about if you had questions. To those looking at going here reservations are a must!!!! Great atmosphere as well”

“Lovely space and delicious food. i had the breakfast sandwich and it was a tasty combination of flavors. My cappuccino was yummy and stayed hot in the hefty cup. The hash browns were buttery, not greasy. The service was friendly and efficient. my spousal unit enjoyed his classic breakfast but wished that the plate had been heated.. I am glad we chose this place!”

“Hyacinth is a keeper. Creative food, well prepared, small but extremely well chosen wines. Portions were large, a bit too large in my view. Hyacinth is one of the few restaurants in the post Covid dining world that is daring to show us how innovative dining can be done.”

“We recently got married (October 2024) and Lake Elmo Inn catererd our wedding. It was absolutely AMAZING! We had the prime rib carving station and the walleye as well as the duck soup and salad. Our guests are still talking about the food. We decided to upgrade to the "LEI Experience" which means each of your guests get a warm hand towel, an intermezzo sorbet, and a chocolate covered strawberry!!! We were over the moon with the service on the night of the wedding and all our communication with LEI throughout the process. Special shoutout to Kayla G. who was the most patient, professional, and kind event manager! She answered every single one of my (many) questions and she did so with a smile! On the night of the wedding, we were SO impressed with how fast the servers were able to get to each of our guest tables and keep the flow going. It was seamless, seriously. We cannot recommend Lake Elmo Inn Catering enough. They've total pro's and just know that you'll be in good hands. Thank you again to everyone on the team for your hard work to make the dream come true!! <3”

“We stopped by Soyen this past weekend for treats and breakfast. All of the food and desserts we ordered were delicious and fresh! Highly recommend ordering the congee for breakfast for little ones, my son ate most of the pork and ginger congee on his own. The chicken congee was also good and refreshing. Our favorite was the raspberry donut - such a good balance of sweet and savory and the mango shaken iced tea - super refreshing on a hot day. The service was also quick and the staff were so nice and friendly. Would highly recommend ordering their food and baked goods while in the area. Can’t wait to visit again soon!”
