We stopped in by accident on a Friday night. The food is incredible. The cook really understands herbs and spices and is making everything from scratch. Not being familiar with Ethiopian food, we randomly ordered samosas, lamb tips, beets and lentils. Each dish was a mouthful of delight. The beets were my favorite and my friend who does not like beets loved this. Not at all convenient to my house, I will gladly drive for this food and sweet little restaurant.
delicious sambusas! best coffee!
We came as a group of 12, ordering a variety of dishes. Besides the very friendly staff, the food was wonderfully presented, and, despite some never having tried Ethiopian fare before, it was all very good. For those not daring to eat using the interactive strip, they will provide our customary utensils...but we recommend the interactive which they make there.

Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant is a delightful dining experience located outside of the Twin Cities. The restaurant is a true gem known for its fresh and delicious food, with a menu that includes vegetarian and beef sambusas, as well as a sampler of various dishes like the kitfo and veggie plate. The Ethiopian honey wine is a popular accompaniment to the meal, and customers have enjoyed sharing it during the traditional coffee ceremony with rich highland organic coffee. The owners are friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. The cozy atmosphere and neat environment create a calm inviting space for diners. The injera is homemade and gluten-free, making it accessible to those with dietary restrictions. Guests have praised the flavorful food, which is full of flavor and beautifully presented, highlighting dishes like the veggie sampler platter for two, which is ample enough for three to four people. Overall, Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant is a great option for those seeking authentic Ethiopian cuisine and a unique dining experience.
