The Birdhouse Eat & Drink

The Birdhouse is a really great neighborhood spot serving up classic American food! I had been meaning to check it out for a while and it did not disappoint. Their food and drinks are tasty, but I was particularly impressed by their outstanding service and the cool, retro atmosphere.

When my partner and I initially arrived there was only one server for the whole of the restaurant (and it was pretty busy), but she was super nice and did an amazing job taking care of all the tables. Another staff member arrived later during our visit and she was also wonderful—plus the two of them together had great teamwork—so I feel confident in saying the staff here are great. Additionally, contributing to the experience as a whole, I really loved the overall ambience. The retro decor was really attractive and gave the space a comfortable and homey vibe.

Beyond this, their food was very solid—I like the creative twists on some classics, like the French onion grilled cheese I tried. The pot roast on this was really good and the cheese was the perfect melty texture. Plus, the portions were very generous and a great value for your money. Additionally, they had an extensive drink menu with fun seasonal cocktails, which I always love to see. I tried one of their winter warmers and it was very nice. I also noticed they have a happy hour on Sun-Thurs with some excellent deals so I’m looking forward to visiting again soon to check out this menu.

Overall, I think The Birdhouse is a great spot and I recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Great food and service. Our office is nearby and always try to support the local businesses. They usually have a descent selection of local beers as well I highly recommend it.

Philly was delicious, chicken salad sandwich was excellent, smash burger are great, creamy coleslaw, all three of us loved our food

Called in to get information. Their auto phone system literally had multi options. Its a restaurant. If people are calling you, they aren't calling the HR department. Trust me on this one. Plus, if i select the option to speak to a staff member, and get redirected to a non existing number, you aren't existing. Zero stars for zero service. You shouldn't be existing on this earth. You really should reconsider your customer service ethics.

Terrible dinning experience! Waiter never once greeted me. Sat there for 30 mins before getting my drink and a menu! Bartender was the only person who acknowledged me!! Poutine was delicious though; I can say that, but never got to try my catfished I order. Because after a hour I decided to leave! I was by myself and felt like I was being ignored purposely especially after noticing that the people who arrived 30 mins after I arrived had their food before me. Will never go back ‼️

do not come hungry during trvia night!!! it gets pretty busy and the kitchen can not keep up. the food was good, although it did take quite a while. we ordered about 20 mins into trivia, did not receive our orders until it was just about wrapped up. The staff made us aware ahead of time that there would be a wait, and they were very nice, but it was still a long wait and we came from work and were starving.

Also the atmosphere was immaculate!!

Drinks are always, food was good, avoid the chips and queso, you can get better elsewhere. A couple little annoyances, extra charge for the block ice, $9 for an old fashion is great just charge $11 and not $2 for ice. No upcharge for tots! But employee wellness fee of 5.5% I'm all for fair wages and HI, just increase the prices. Hopefully all employees get the benefit and it is not a hidden revenue increase. All this being said I will go back and support the Robbinsdale downtown bar.

We eat and drink here darn near every Thursday night for bar trivia, and this place never misses! The service is always top notch and the rotating specials are a fun surprise. If you're in downtown Robbinsdale for any reason this place is worth a visit!

Sooo disappointed they removed the poutine so I opted for the mac and cheese with grilled chicken it was just meh. Flavorless and underwhelming But our service was good and atmosphere was cozy. Bring back the poutine !!
