Drinks were perfect, service was perfect. Atmosphere was so cool it made me feel like I wanted to stay there for hours. And having to solve a riddle in order to figure out how to open a bookcase in order to get in was such an incredible touch I can't wait to go back!
Interesting space, and we had a nicely attentive server, but we disliked the drinks we ordered. Mine was the better of the ones tried with the unique flavor of star anise which I can appreciate, but all of the house designed drinks we tried were extremely sweet and perhaps a bit small for the price (but I am willing to accept the size given the unique ingredients). One of the other drinks we tried with fig flavor none of us liked much. None of us in our group of 8 were willing...
The drinks are quite good, especially for Rochester. Unlike so many places, Bitter and Pour does one thing and does it well. Perhaps the best part is the atmosphere - with no windows, you can, after a few drinks, pretend you are somewhere else. For that reason alone, this place is priceless.
