This is my 4th year ordering a vegan Thanksgiving meal through Whole Foods' catering service. Go to the Whole Foods website, click on "Catering" and look for "Vegan Holiday". It's called "Vegan Meal for 2" but I always get 3-4 meals out of it – totally worth $39.99. You place the order ahead of time, then pick everything up before the holiday, and cook it at home. The food has been delicious every year. This year the meal includes the following: WHOLE FOODS VEGAN THANKSGIVING Pumpkin Curry Soup Mushroom & Root Vegetable en Croûte (entrée) Roasted Butternut Squash with Cranberries & Sage Roasted Fingerlings with Garlic & Parsley Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Green Beans Mushroom Gravy This year I ordered an additional side of Cranberry Orange Sauce. I was really happy to find a vegan HALF pumpkin pie for sale at the bakery counter. Updated from previous review on 2023-11-22

Whole Foods/Amazon is at the bottom of my list for places to spend money. However, in a pinch I will stop in for a few items. The vegan slices are affordable and readily available. Vegan brownies are a nice touch too.

Cynical corporate appropriation of the co-op aesthetic. Updated from previous review on 2018-04-12

The bar & grill inside is not worth stopping at and the staff are rude. However, the store is great place to get a few things quickly. We love to walk to the store and enjoy Whole Foods

Worst Whole Foods we’ve been too. Took our daughter, who is in college here Sunday pm. Unfriendly workers- tiny store- limited selection

I used to be quite thrilled with this WFM. Although it tends to be expensive, it carries a large variety of vegan goods (some that were hard to find elsewhere), has delightful staff, and has a wonderful prepared salad bar with a flavorful variety of prepared grain salads, roasted vegetables, proteins, etc. And then Amazon bought WFM. Because, you know, Jeff Bezos only controls a few percent of the US economy -- why not buy up more of it? (While he tries to portray himself as a good guy, he recently cut health insurance to part -time workers.) So I looked around, and I realized that there were getting to be more and more options for buying vegan products. The co-ops have been stepping up their games, Fresh Thyme can be pretty decent, and so can local chain Fresh & Natural (sadly, they've retrenched and are now only in Shoreview and Hudson). I can live just fine without you, Jeff Bezos, and keep my money in the community or at least the region! You bought it in August 2017, and I've only been there once since then.

I could not find anything I wanted to eat from the salad bar or deli. We could not get a hello, let alone served at the cafe, so we left. The meat looked great.

Until last fall I lived across the street from Whole Foods on Selby. They never had anything in stock after, say, 1:00 p.m.,. Their breakfast items were usually gone before 10:30 a.m. (Right around the time I get up in the summer.) Too bad. And no one seemed to work there. Their deli and bakery departments were never staffed. Bizarre! Now, walk a few blocks to Kowalski's on Grand and see how a grocery store should be managed and maintained. And one more thing--whole foods hours are ridiculous. Hardly what one would call a full service grocery store.

Whole Foods is "Whole Foods": no surprises from place to place. But this store was in a wonderful location on the corner of Grand and Fairview, but they sold out to CVS and moved to the Selby store which has a very inconvenient parking lot. Friendly service, good specials, especially in the fish section.
