While we were in Minnesota for our event, we had the absolute pleasure of dining at Erta Ale Ethiopian Restaurant. The owners, Amy and Derje, were the best hosts we could have asked for welcoming us with such warmth and genuine hospitality.

They treated us to a wonderful buffet that was overflowing with authentic Ethiopian flavors. The kitfo, aybe, and gomen were out of this world fresh, perfectly seasoned, and truly unforgettable. Every dish, from the injera...

I’ll start with saying that we love Ethiopian cuisine, I was introduced to it 7 years ago and fell in love. We loved to an area that obviously didn’t have anything like this 5 years ago so I learned how to make some of my favorite dishes (and found how hard injera is to make).

So when we came to the twin cities to celebrate we looked and found Erta Ale for a good and hearty Sunday lunch. Boy. They did not disappoint! ❤️ Not only did this blow other restaurants...

We came here after a long conference, craving authentic and delicious Ethiopian food. The menu had a good selection vegetarian options. The food was so flavorful and perfectly portioned. Plenty of injera for the table. Be sure to try everything, it’s worth it! 5 stars, highlight of our trip to St Paul.
