We just found the Golden Thyme and decided to try it out on a Sunday night. We made reservations just in case (not necessary... yet...). We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly staff. I sat down and looked around and once I disregarded the new building we were in all I could think of was Memphis. The music, service and food was excellent. Savanah treated us like royalty. The portions were huge and the BBQ and slaw brought me back to some of the best I've had in Memphis, Nashville and other places we've visited way south of St Paul, MN. I'm tempted not to tell anyone about this because the next time we decide to go back I'll probably have to make reservations 4 weeks in advance. An absolutely wonderful experience!

Excellent place for a special meal. Their take on Cajun dishes made my friend and I smile with satisfaction. My friend's favorite dessert is cheesecake and he gets it everywhere. He said this was in his to few best. The staff was fantastic as well. Go here and enjoy!

I really hope this place was better. They ran out of chicken (it was 7pm), the food was under spiced, and bland. I can only hope, they figure it and soon.. don't be afraid of spice and flavor..

If you haven't been here, you need to go. We shared the burger, pulled pork sandwich, dry rub wings, and espresso martini. It was all amazing. It is worth the 40-minute drive for us, just for the wings alone. The rest of the food is a bonus. The service here is great. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The art here is beautiful.

I was so excited to try the breakfast many reviewers bragged about. Unfortunately they didn’t have the pancakes and the woman at the register explained they haven’t had it since they changed owners. I had their egg sandwich with bacon. It was on Texas toast and it had a sweet sauce. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. The muddy waters was ok but too sweet for my liking. I love the aesthetic that celebrates black Americans. I hope they don’t change the interior.

Loving their Muddy Waters drink. Their music isn’t too loud. The decor is cute.I prefer the Black owned coffee shops in St Paul. They have better music and vibes. And much cuter drink names.

Still dreaming about this braised oxtail that fell off the bone, the homemade mac and cheese with the right texture I love, and tender collard greens. Just elevated simple homemade, seasoned right.

Wish We could give half stars, this is is a solid 4.4 or 4.5 place. Reasonable prices and solid food, well done. The menu is limited on weekends to specials. So not a lot of options on what I would think is the busiest days. There was a steady flow of customers, so obviously a popular spot. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Unfortunately and one of the reasons I am not giving the place 5 stars is the food is all in to go containers. Even if you're at a table, they bring it out in a plastic bag, in plastic to go containers and all cutlery is flimsy plastic. No recycling, all that plastic goes right into the trashcan. For that reason I probably won't go back. Everything thing else was solid. Place looked clean and decor was nice. Food was above average. Presentation was far below average because of the to go containers and plastic forks.
