I was so excited to try the breakfast many reviewers bragged about. Unfortunately they didn’t have the pancakes and the woman at the register explained they haven’t had it since they changed owners. I had their egg sandwich with bacon. It was on Texas toast and it had a sweet sauce. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. The muddy waters was ok but too sweet for my liking. I love the aesthetic that celebrates black Americans. I hope they don’t change the interior.

Loving their Muddy Waters drink. Their music isn’t too loud. The decor is cute.I prefer the Black owned coffee shops in St Paul. They have better music and vibes. And much cuter drink names.

Still dreaming about this braised oxtail that fell off the bone, the homemade mac and cheese with the right texture I love, and tender collard greens. Just elevated simple homemade, seasoned right.

Had a work meeting here last week and loved it! The coffee was really good. I also had the jerk chicken wrap, which was amazing! Artwork was very cool as well. I'm be back for sure.

Wish We could give half stars, this is is a solid 4.4 or 4.5 place. Reasonable prices and solid food, well done. The menu is limited on weekends to specials. So not a lot of options on what I would think is the busiest days. There was a steady flow of customers, so obviously a popular spot. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Unfortunately and one of the reasons I am not giving the place 5 stars is the food is all in to go containers. Even if you're at a table, they bring it out in a plastic bag, in plastic to go containers and all cutlery is flimsy plastic. No recycling, all that plastic goes right into the trashcan. For that reason I probably won't go back. Everything thing else was solid. Place looked clean and decor was nice. Food was above average. Presentation was far below average because of the to go containers and plastic forks.

I walked in around 2:45pm, the cashier didn’t speak or acknowledge me I stood there for a for a minute or two, then she asked “how may I help you” … anyway I mentioned I placed an over the phone order,Being that I am on my WORK BREAK!… Before leaving I asked the cashier /server is utensils and everything that I order in the bag? she said YES!!… when I got to my vehicle I noticed there weren’t no utensils or the dessert, keep in mind there are NOT busy, the cashier needs to be more attentive and learn customer service. The catfish 5 starMac and cheese 4 starRice and gravy absolutely a ZERO STAR the gravy was to thin, no taste just blendPeach cobbler 5 star

A great community spot. You can tell people really come here to be in connection with each other. The coffee is good. My favorite thing was their breakfast sandwich in a croissant - Yum!! So much cool art in display

Food was great (homemade biscuits for the egg sandwich! my friend had the shrimp and grits), service is warm and friendly. This is a vibrant space, full of art and color. My only hesitation in returning here often is that all flatware and dishes are disposable (lots of plastic).
