Such an amazing time here. My fiancé and I stopped in after suit shopping and it was the best part of the night. I felt like we were tucked back into a secret part of the city, hiding away for a great bite to eat. The menu is limited which is perfect for me, but also means they have worked to one the dishes on it. We split a burger after having the brussle sprouts and poutine. This was an amazing combo and the portions were generous! I would come here again and again, not for just the food but the service as well. We had made a reservation for a later time, but got there earlier. They were able to get us sat in Lora’s section. Lora was truly amazing and made the dinner that much better. Here recommendations were amazing and she was just so kind. Great conversation and truly made the dinner the much better.

This was our first time dining at Gus Gus and I can guarantee it will not be our last. I've been eating steaks at high end restaurants for a long time and the Ribeye at Gus Gus is as delicious and well prepared as any you will ever have. Get it, order it rare and I promise you will never look back.

We had the Tuna Crudo and Shishito Peppers as starters. Both were Amazing!

Creme Brulee pie for desert. 10 out of 10!

Drink menu is spot on with a good selection of NA options. The Summit Nilas IPA is delicious.

Seems nice but you need a reservation even on a Monday as a single person at 5:45 PM. Wished I could have tried the food or even been able to get a seat at the bar.

Incredible food! The prawns and the beets were two of the best dishes we ate all year. The burger and fries were (predictably) delicious; we split it and still couldn’t finish everything. The cocktails were inventive and our service was fantastic! The only small
downside was the extremely loud inside seating.

Went to Gus Gus for happy hour with friends and sat in the bar. The cheeseburger did not disappoint, good bun and perfectly seasoned. The halibut was small but tasty. The chili nachos were good but I’d skip the olives and corn nuts. Cocktails were tasty and they also had beer on tap. Limited parking in the lot.

Delicious! Great gluten free options! Best cheese burger in the cities (the sautéed onions were perfect).Salad, fries and steak were superb as well. I wish the burger/fries came with the garlic aioli instead of ketchup. Reservations are needed :)

We had a great time here! Friendly service, an intimate atmosphere, and a creative menu that definitely caught our eye.

We started with the chips with speck, crème fraîche, and smoked salt, which ended up being the star of the meal. Thin, crisp, and perfectly salted, the chips were balanced beautifully with the tangy crème fraîche and savory speck. Simple but executed really well.

The poutine was a fun twist with fried gnocchi instead of fries. The texture was spot-on—crispy on the outside, soft inside—but the dish overall felt a bit too heavy. Between the cheese curds and gnocchi, it needed something to cut through the richness.

The cheeseburger was solid—smashburger-style with good seasoning. The patty was juicy and flavorful, but the edges could’ve been crispier to really shine. It’s a classic burger that checks the box for the basics, but there wasn’t anything particularly unique or memorable about it.

We also tried the Spritz Salato, which was light, refreshing, and had a nice herbal bitterness from the Amaro and sherry. It paired nicely with the snacks.

One disappointment: we were really looking forward to trying the French toast dessert we saw on their website, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the dessert menu when we visited.

A little pricey, and a little expensive for what it is. Small and hard to get in, but everything was delicious and our server was so friendly and loved to joke around. I do recommend, just make sure you have reservations.

On my way to check out the work of well-known local designer Laura Hlavac, I decided to stop by Gus Gus for happy hour. I’ve always loved this spot — tucked right into the heart of the Highland neighborhood, it manages to feel both lively and intimate at the same time.

I went with the happy hour halibut. The flavor didn’t disappoint — it was delicious — though I found myself wishing the portion had been a bit more generous. The Brussels sprouts had great flavor too, though they leaned a little heavy on the salt for my taste. My cocktail, on the other hand, was a standout: light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced.

All in all, a nice little break before continuing on to my next stop!
