Wow. Wow. Wow. Where to begin? 10/10 would recommend! 2 meals, a few drinks, great service. Ask yourself if you are looking for a solid date night… will you be disappointed? Not a chance.
Delicious comfort food. The chicken and waffles was incredible! The tomato jam on the fried green tomatoes was the second best thing we ate. Fun atmosphere with lots of pig artwork.
Sam was an amazing server! The good and drinks were excellent. I will definitely be back!

We had a show to catch in Downtown St Paul and were looking to find a nice restaurant to hang out in beforehand. Handsome Hog was a nice cozy spot for a good filling meal. The Secreto was phenomenal. It was suggested by our wonderful server and it was so tender and flavorful. All the other things that it came with-- the Brussel sprouts, the fennel leek puree were all great compliments to the dish. We also ordered the brisket which paled in comparison to the Secreto. It was still pretty good, but I found it a little on the dry side. The service here was amazing and the price, even more so! I can't believe the value you get for the quality of the food.

We had a great experience. We usually come to Minneapolis twice a year (brother, son and nephews). We always hit Handsome Hog when we're in town (from DC, Pennsylvania and Arizona.) The food was outstanding as always. Our server, Amanda was great as well.
My first visit to the Handsome Hog was outstanding! The bar area is very spacious and the entire restaurant has a great vibe. The drink menu is extensive, and the mocktails are a great option (my wife enjoyed the Dirty Bird). We ordered the dry rub wings and the fries and both were fantastic. The fries were especially delicious and came with a seasoned sour cream type of dip that was great. We also ordered the smoked creme brulee for dessert and it was a great way to end our meal. We will be back again for dinner sometime soon!

I have several dietary restrictions (dairy and spices), so the options were few, but the LAVENDER HONEY SALAD+ with chicken was delicious!
Great night on the patio. No reservation and we got a warm welcome.

Rob made me the most fantastic Sage Against the Machine, we had some massive wings, delicious crab cakes, and the best hush puppies I’ve had in St. Paul! Even the Hamms tasted like champagne; maybe it was Rob, maybe that’s just how the Hog services all its patrons. A necessary stop for anyone and everyone who wants to bask in the sun while replenishing themselves

Overall the food was alright. Was expecting juicy brisket and tender ribs but they were a bit dry and the ribs were difficult to get off the bone. The Mac and cheese was pretty good but the Cheetos on top were super stale and inedible. service was okay, wasn't super on top of refills but the dessert (bread pudding) was AMAZING!!!! Overall wouldn't go out of our way to go again but it wasn't horrible.
I was craving a really good bbq/smoked dinner for weeks, especially brisket and ribs. I wish I could say this place delivered, but I left disappointed and regretting spending the amount of money that we did. My wife and I both ordered Combo #5. She got the brisket and ribs and I got brisket, ribs and pulled pork.
The pulled pork was drowning in so much liquid it was almost a soup, which made it very unappetizing. The brisket was either old and reheated in a microwave, or over cooked to begin with, but it came out cold and basically jerky. Despite it appearing to have a nice bark, it was also somehow lacking in flavor. The ribs were tough and oddly spicy, even for a dry rub. I could have gotten on board with them being spicy if it wasn’t like gnawing on an old football. The only real redeeming thing on the plate was the corn muffin, but even the spicy butter they have for it was weird and unpleasant.
Honestly, the only reason I gave 2 stars was because the staff was courteous and attentive.
