Way too expensive for what you get. Dry tasteless food. Would not recommend.
Went during noon brunch and was slow.
Service was amazing. Very friendly and helpful in guiding us through the brunch menu.
At 2:00pm they switch to a happy hour snack menu. At 5:00 pm that switch to their dinner menu.
Had the Handsome Hog Hot Brown and a side of hash potatoes. Potatoes were delicious. Well seasoned with a crispy exterior. Handsome Hog Brown was good: piles of meat on bread with plenty of gravy. Sunny side up egg on top. Loved the crispy bacon.
Nice central bar area and large bourbon selection.

Food was large portions. The shrimp and grits were drenched in a sauce that overpowered the shrimp. Other diners enjoyed their crispy chicken.
However, our beautiful end of summer outdoor brunch was marred by a continuous stream of wasps. They were attracted to our expensive cocktails (and 2 even swam in them). The waitstaff knew of this everyday problem but offered no relief - other than moving inside. We had to use napkins to cover drinks and menus to continuously fan them away.
Given the nonchalance of staff, this must be an everyday occurrence! So the owner must know there is a nest somewhere in the patio that could be relocated by pest control to improve the diners' experience.

Usually fantastic food here. On today's visit, both the brisket and pulled pork were blander than usual which was surprising...it was still good, but not as I remember from several past visits. Apps, drinks, and desert were superb! This is a great place - visit it soon!

The owner Rosemary does not pay her bills she owes multiple people millions of dollars I would not recommend this place at all.
I don't know what's southern about the place but I liked it.

We went last night to celebrate two birthdays. We had a great waiter/bartender, Dan. He had great customer service skills , knew the drink and food menu well, gave recommendations for food, and made sure we were take care of even though they were busy on the patio. The food and drinks were fantastic, great portion, loved the sides. Additionally, there was a challenged patron and they treated her with respect and ensured her safety.

I came here on August 31st with 3 other guests. I still think about it to this day, unfortunately not for positive reasons.
~ Pork Belly ($18) - My party ordered but I did not eat, they seemed to enjoy it.
~ Watermelon Salad Entreé ($18) - Romaine was pretty wilted and soggy. Watermelon was crisp. Nothing noteworthy.
~ Cornbread Muffin ($4) - Cayenne honey butter was decent, the Muffin itself was tasty. Pretty small, like a Muffin tin size. For $4 I think that's a little ridiculous when you can buy a box of Cornbread mix for well under that price and that'll get you a dozen+.
~ Dinner Mac and Cheese ($20) - The mac and cheese itself was delicious. Very rich and creamy. Portion size was pretty lackluster. For the four of us we each got maybe 1/3-1/2 cup. The fried chicken wasn't anything to write home about. Tough, too much breading.
~ Root beer ($6) - Really tasty! $6 for root beer is a bit steep, however.
~ Combo #5 + 3rd meat ($43) - This was by far the most disappointing part. Fried chicken was the same as mentioned earlier; tough, too much breading. Brisket was tough as old boots; brisket should be soft and barely need cutting through, this you definitely needed a steak knife. Spare ribs were dry and seemingly overcooked; meat did not fall off the bone and had to almost be knawed at. Pulled pork was pretty decent, nothing too memorable. Cornbread muffin was as mentioned earlier, same experience. Grilled sweet corn was decent, it's corn so it's nothing extravagant. I did not eat the house pickles but my friends seemed to enjoy them.
~Service - Very friendly staff. No complaints here.
In today's economy, expensive restaurants really need to bring their A-game. Many people aren't wanting to spend, nor are able to spend, $50-100 for a meal, so it really has to be delicious and worth it. When you go out to eat, theoretically the food should be better than what you can make at home. This, however, was not. For the $109 bill + tip, tax, and the alcoholic beverages my friends each ordered (which are also pretty spendy and at least $10 depending on what you get), you'd think you would be getting something better. Would not recommend. I had better meat at a company grill-off at my job...
Parking: Parking is difficult and you will likely have to walk a bit.

Excellent food and service. A lot of Modern BBQ places charge an arm and a leg for tiny portions, but this place gives you your money's worth
