I didn’t have a good experience here. We reserved a table for brunch. The hostess sat us at an awkward table. It was small, cramped, and within a high traffic zone. My party felt uncomfortable. When we asked if we could move to the empty table over, she said we couldn’t because it wasn’t open. I could understand that, but then she sat a couple there about 2 minutes later. We reserved ahead of time, so I didn’t understand why we couldn’t also sit there? We finally just asked the waiter if we could move and she was nice enough to clean a table and move us over to a better spot. The food was okay. Not bad, but not enough to make up for the overall experience.

The space is cute and fun, but I've been here several times and I'm always disappointed in the food. It always sounds interesting, but doesn't live up to the menu descriptions.

This place is usually the best part of my day when I go. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. Best loaded hashbrowns I've ever seen

This place completely ruined any other breakfast sandwich for me. Hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! The toasted everything bagel was so good and the pimento cheese on it is so creamy and flavorful and blends so well with cheesy eggs and smokey bacon. We also tried the carrot cake pancakes and they are so good too! The spices in the pancake batter cut the rich sweetness of the cream cheese maple syrup and the nuts on top add a perfect little texture to the dish. The biscuits and gravy were ok, nothing to write home about. Everything else was amazing though. If you're coming on the weekend, definitely make a reservation online ahead of time.

The food was absolutely fantastic! I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of crispy hashbrowns. They really don't disappoint. Don't get me started with the service! Our server was the best and always put on a smile. I'll be back again no doubt about it.

My Hawaiian Bowl was fantastic as was my coffee. My friend had the tostada breakfast and said it was spot onLow marks on the atmosphere because the place is too noisy. I'm not a fan of that.We were first offered a table upstairs - no elevator. My companion is disabled, so that was a hard no.Still I recommend the he place.Wheelchair accessibility: NONE

A bit disppointed.. and here’s why.Rave reviews and overall high star rating made me think this will be a really good place to eat a a pretty good breakfast, which isn’t an easy thing to find in St. Paul and some of it suburbs.Soo.. in we go, made a reservation for a busy Friday morning. Super crowded place, which might not be a bad thing, but definitely colder than it’s supposed to be, but who cares, right? I’m about to have a very pleasant food experience.. or NOT.We’ve went with a Pina Colada French Toast, and Avocado Toast with poached egg. I’ll try to be constructive:1. Pina Colada French Toast:Pros: The idea behind it, pineapple.. toasted pineapple crunch.Cons: Soggy bread, swimming in syrupTips: French toast can’t be soggy- use thicker/different type of bread, smaller portion, cut into triangles, less syrup/more on the side, more crunch.2. Avocado Toast and poached egg:Pros: Toppings, zing, heat, fried avocado, egg.Cons: super thin toast, super thick/cold guac - those two don’t go together, unpleasant bite.Tips: Use thicker multigrain slice, room temperature guac; more salt on fried avocado.Coffee was light and enjoyable, could be cleaner.

Lots of good food options for both savory and sweet breakfast.Big coffee drink menu, but the drip coffee is pretty good too.Cool atmosphere at this location as it's small but two stories with exposed wood.Parking is kind of tight, but not awful. Be prepared to park on the street and walk a couple of blocks.

One of the BEST breakfast spots in St. Paul! You want a reservation if you’re going on the weekend as they get busy. They have many GF and DF options! Their bacon tacos and Bloody Marys are amazing!Sadly, they have recently been rushing you out after around 50min and won’t let you order additional food after your first order. They never did this in the past.

The food and different coffees are excellent.Even though they are very busy, it seemed to take a very long time to get the food we ordered.I was still very pleased..I want to give a 5 Star rating because for us, the food is incredible but, I don’t give anyone a 5 star ranking for anything,(only because there’s always room for improvement).

Goodness! If breakfast is your favorite meal like it is mine you will not be disappointed at Hopes. All the servers are astoundingly kind and Sophia A is a personal fav server of ours! Coffee is the best I have ever had (and believe me I have had a lot of coffee over the years). Highly recommend the banana churro waffle

I got the Pina colada French toast which was filling and good, along with the loaded hash. My sister ordered the rice bowl with pho broth and spam; wasn't so good. It was more soup than anything and the broth was very bland. The matcha & Vietnamese coffees are not worth it.The atmosphere is very busy and slightly claustrophobic, but the fact that it was a firehouse and has memorabilia adds charm.
